Simply put, Union Øye is the finest hotel myself and my fiancé have ever stayed at. The mountains, fjords, and broader landscape surrounding the hotel is singular in its majesty and beauty, and provides unequalled opportunities for exploration and adventure. For us, this included kayaking along Norangsfjorden and Hjørundfjorden, cold plunging in the fjord followed by a session in the glass-walled sauna on the dock overlooking the fjord, running / hiking in the mountains, and more. The hotel building was authentically historic and stunningly beautiful, with its historicity wonderfully captured in the decor, paintings and pictures, individually designed rooms, and the 10pm storytelling each night by a member of the staff telling the story of the hotel since its founding in 1891. The food was exquisite and over the course of four days we truly looked forward to each meal. In the interim between meals, we would talk often about how good the last one was. Above all else, the staff are utterly exceptional. We have never experienced better. Each member of staff was unbelievably warm, kind, friendly and helpful. It truly felt like you were being welcomed as a guest into a family's home, rather than just a hotel. The level of effort each member of the staff put in to proactively making our stay as exceptional and as special an experience as possible was truly something to behold. It was a true joy to spend time arou them. We were engaged here and plan to come back many times.

After the post-renovation refurbishment, the union oye had an incredible stay. Although the hotel is lovely, with beautiful rooms and nice common areas, the employees really made our experience unforgettable. You all are outstanding, from the front desk personnel to the server's staff to the bartender Kim who is a true bartending genius. We hope to return!.

It is worth visiting for a few days and take a journey back in time! This unique historic hotel which was built in 1891 has undergone a complete renovation and restoration program. The kitchen is of the highest international standards and the service is 100100!.

This is a beautiful 130-year-old hotel with a lot of history, which has also hosted royalty, fashion designers, composers, and novelists. Room 7 supposedly is haunted by the ghost of a maid who committed suicide in the hope of the return of her lover, a Kaiser Wilhelm officer. Dark wood paneling makes the interior look like it was built at the turn of the century. There are plenty of candles, the irony is that many comparable hotels have burned down. More people are vacationing in the area, but rooms are a bit pricey. This is a lovely foodland hotel.

It's a joy to drive up to this hotel. That alone is worthwhile. Our goal was to get some cake and coffee. But those costs. We understand that Norway is expensive, but 12 euros for a small piece of cake, he. Coffee not freshly made but in a coffee can. Buffet coffee, well that's a new concept. The interior is unique and historical. The staff were great up until we asked for the bill. The woman providing us with the bill was just rude. Just drive, bring your own coffee in a coffee can, a piece of cake, and find a spot somewhere along this stunning beautiful landscape.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for one night. Everything was excellent, the room was lovely, as was the rest of the hotel, the meal was excellent, and the personnel was very welcoming and accommodating. The conservatory, the dining room, and the conservatory were all really beautiful. I just want to offer the hotel one thing of advice because I a tea lover, I don't drink coffee, and I regret not having a large mug of powerful tea and not brown water that was served in tiny cups. So that the visitor can choose the strongest tea herself, buy some big mugs and put the tea into a tea filter. A selection of tea bags wouldn't have seemed inconsiderable either..
