This summer, when I stayed at Citys Hostel for a week, I must say that the Hostel is exceptionally clean at all times. They also provide an inexpensive, but delightful breakfast. Nevertheless, I must admit that the hostel seems to have an unkind atmosphere. After a certain amount of daily work, I can see how a solitary traveler might find it difficult to enjoy themselves. Perhaps some games in the common area or a fun night with guests to meet and greet.

I was there for three nights. The hostel is clean and cool. The staff are also very friendly! Even if you go to Porta Delgada, check it out and book a taxi so I can get to my extremely early flight on time. Very close to the city center.

The breakfast is delicious. But the best part, especially the female receptionists in Tulsa. They were very helpful and informative for an est time Azores traveler. Also flexible and patient with me switching rooms and plans. The access to parking was good, and when parking was taken, the owner offered it to another guest. Thank you.

In this hostel, we stayed two nights in our private room. The hotel has a really nice and clean, spacious room, and a very comfortable bed! There is a little terrace where you can enjoy breakfast. Everyone can enjoy the breakfast served in the kitchen. You can also bring your own food and put it in the refrigerator. The only drawback was that the owner did not provide the codes to enter the hostel even though we indicated our arrival time in the booking, so we had nowhere near enough to sleep outside. Luckily, some people woke up at midnight and opened the door for us, but the second issue was that we didn't have the code to enter the room! We were able to locate the code at an unexpected location at the front desk after prior experiences in escape rooms. In conclusion, it's a lovely place to stay, but you need to be resourceful!.

I appreciated the easy self-check in and that all of the information was provided ahead, as I was arriving late in the night. Thanks!

Very comfortable bed and very good bathroom but the indoor aircondition was not suitable for the island's weather during summer period. Its location is very hood as it is 10mins walking distance from the centre.

I stayed in the female dorm, which was nice, but personal spaces are spread around the room so if you go to bed or get up early, you are likely disturbing other travelers. Bathroom also has glass so if someone goes to the bathroom with a light on in the night, it shines across the entire room. But staff was very nice, kitchen was spacious, shower was great, and the garden in the back was a perfect place to relax. I didn't get to stay for breakfast, but they do have breakfast!

If you are viewing this property from hotels.com, note there is no laundry available. While there was “room cleaning” our towels and sheets were never changed, we were there for 6 nights. We were told we could notify the front desk, however, their hours are so limited that it was tough to coordinate. This place is very basic, the doors are loud and so at night the sounds echo, the beds are comfortable enough. I would recommend this place if you are hoping to stay in ponta delgada on a budget.

Handy, fairly quiet location. Just turn right and walk for 15 ish minutes and you're at the little garden in the main bit if town. My private (en suite) room was nice and clean, although the air con was not working. Could pop a chair on the balcony... would make it usable... Bring your own cutlery - there was a single knife available between everyone staying. I understand that people steal stuff, but it needs to be replaced. Great little corner shop just outside. BUT don't buy much food in one go - there is a single fridge for everyone staying, and no cupboard space. Breakfast food is yogurt and sliced bread, ham, cheese and jam. Wobbly banisters and broken picnic table.... but maintenance guys doing other stuff - why not fix all on one go ???

Pretty new hostel at 10 mins walking distance to Ponta Delgada center. I stayed in a private room which had a balcony in common with a dormitory. Overall the stay was nice but you hardly meet any staff during the day (if you plan to arrive outside the check-in hours make sure to call them in advance to get the access door code). Also I found it very noisy, the walls are not soundproofed at all. Daily cleaning of the bathroom. Breakfast is served in the common kitchen but it can be improved. There’s a lot of parking spots next to the hostel so it’s not a problem if you plan to rent a car. No elevator (which is common in the Azores) but only stairs.

there is no air conditioning but a noisy fancoil that acts as a fan (outside it was 20 degrees and inside it was very hot). We complaint for this with the owner who  didn't tell us anithing about it during check in. The first time she told that AC was broken but for the night it would have been ok. Unfortunately nothing's changed and in the morning she didn't care for the problem.
