Loved the hotel placement, loved the food , loved the spa area ! Definitely a great experience! I would only remove the plastic glasses used in the Romeo&Juliette restaurant. Also, the mattress a bit to hard for my « taste »…

Amazing property. Fantastic indoor pool and spa with full service fitness center. Easy access to the beach short drive to town. Stay along the beach peninsula. Best place to stay in Constanta !

This is a very beautiful property right on the beach. Services in the spa indoor pool and gym are amazing. First Class ! Breakfast included was very nice. Away from town but in my opinion that's nice to go to town for restaurants. Stay along the beach peninsula.

The 5* hotel should be considered 5* local standards and not comparable to an international standard. The staff of the hotel was very professional, nice and helpful. The rooms are big and clean, with no obvious damages, showing a good maintenance of the property. The overall property was better looking and organized and well maintained than anything else in the area. The spa is spacious and nice and overall it looks clean. Also the spa services are very good. However the bed, although extra large, had spring mattresses, was quite thin and thus whenever turning, the bed was making a big noise and half the bed was moving with you. The box spring was missing some elements and thus the mattress was sinking on one corner whenever sitting on it. The towels were thin because of long time use. The breakfast was not exceptional, and surely not 5*. The food at the restaurant is so, so and over priced for quality. The rooms are over heated. In fact is so hot that you have to sleep with the windows open. Another funny aspect is that at the spa, the shower and toilets are about 50 m from the pool, near the entrance of the spa area. That made me wonder how many people actually shower before entering the pool...

Amazing besides check out. Everything was perfect, staff, property, helpless, kindness, professionalism. Checking out was just unfriendly in anyway possible. To pay half a night as a regular costumer for 2-3 hours extra due to flight conditions and was a little bit unfriendly.

The hotel is well located in terms of distance from the beach, has a very friendly and polite staff but overall is something like a 4* Experience. Rooms are spacious but you will be stressful with shower cabin even your body is an average size. Beds need also renovation. Overall it’s a Quiet place, breakfast is rather 4* experience (I guess that being in the end of summer season, options are less). For example I expected fresh fruit juice from a 5* Hotel, not a concrete juice. Restaurant has a great menu option : my recommendation should be shorter options but having more daily fresh choices and for sure the staff has to “promote” more, what is called restaurant facility in a 5* hotel.

This is not a 5 star hotel. Expidea advertised AC in the rooms. They tuned it off because the season is over. When the sun beats on the window its 85 degrees. Now way to cool the room. Advertise they no AC in the off season. Would not have stayed. The beach bar is closed. So is the restaurant. We ate at Romeo and Juliet the first night. No one was there. Empty and the server looked irritated we walked in. After ordering and being served a salad, he left. Went home. Told the bar tender his wife was downstairs and walked out. Unprofessional! We never went back again. The breakfast staff was just as bad. They were speaking about how bad it was a guest took 3 egss. Who cares?! My wife is Romanian and listen to your very rude staff. There was only one gentleman who was very polite and greeted us on the last day. I didnt get his name but he should be comended. The beach staff is just as bad. First off they weren't out on the beach at 11am. Lots of people waiting for the doors to be unlocked to get cushions. And expecting a tip. Some guests paid, others didn't. And expect to walk to the gate to get down to the water. The shuttle is seasonal as well!!! They wont let you drive and park by the closed restaurant. Even when the front desk clerk said it was ok. Such a waste of time and money!!

The rooms smell awful. The staff (especially the older restaurant staff) is rude and waits for tips without earning it. The receptionists were nice though! This five star hotel does NOT provide laundry services. They said it’s because they are really busy but the hotel was empty so that doesn’t add up. The housekeepers were always visible. Wanting to enter the room while I was there. I’m sorry but at a five star hotel housekeeping should happen when I’m out of the room. I shouldn’t even know the face of the housekeepers. That’s how tips are earned! Just not a five star experience. Also the long chair mattresses at the beach were incredibly dirty. The resort overall also is really bizarre and seems like is perpetually under construction. With no zoning, no urban planning.

Hotels.com need to be aware that Arena Regia is not a 5 star hotel. The staff were unfriendly and as soon as I arrived, the price I thought I would pay for my 5 nights went up by £40 which I was already unhappy about. The restaurant ar the Arcadia was poor. Staff ignored us and were swearing at each other in a Romanian (I understand the language and they were calling each other retards). The shower in the room was appalling. I am. 5 for 4 female and I am very small, I could just about fit in the shower, my husband is 6 foot and banged his face in the shower because it is too small. The beach is supposed to be 5 star. There are disgusting ports cabins for toilets that not even the local builders would use. We left after 2 nights, and demanded the remaining 3 nights that we paid for to be returned to us. The manager was not physically present at the hotel but spoke to us by phone (bizarre), and told us there was not enough money in the hotel to give us our money back. We told him to return the money for the 3 days we paid for or we will complain further. We left after 48 hours. My husband and I travel a great deal and I was not impressed at all and will never return. I have travelled to a Romania over 50 times and this hotel is the worst I have stayed in for service. Such a shame as Mamaia is lovely and I love Romania, but this hotel lets the tourist industry down. We wanted a refund for the 2 nights we did stay because we were so fed up.
