How to Get to Chinatown
Reaching Chinatown is easy. This district is nestled at the heart of Singapore and provides an easy access to anywhere around. There are several ways to get here, as well as going around Singapore from this area. You can take either bus, taxi, or MRT.
If you wanna go to Chinatown by MRT, the nearest station is Chinatown MRT Station on the North-East Line and Downtown Line which will take you right in the heart of the area. However, if you don’t mind walking a bit far while sightseeing, stop by Outram Park MRT Station or Clarke Quay MRT Station then walk a bit to reach Chinatown.
Going to Chinatown by bus, there are 5 nearest bus stops that will take you to reach the center of Chinatown. These are including bus stop at South Bridge Road, Maxwell Road, Eu Tong Sen Street (People’s Park Centre), New Bridge Road, and Eu Tong Sen Street (People’s Park Complex). Some of the buses are number 2, 12, 33, 54, 143, 147, 190, 520, 961, 970, and C2.

While Mass Rapid Transportation (MRT) in Singapore is the main public transportation, you can still take bus or taxi with just one in all transit card. You can buy this public transit card at the convenience store or nearest MRT station. This card can be used for all buses, MRT to all routes, and some taxis. Don’t worry about the balance you still have inside the card later, because it lasts for 5 years! Therefore you can use it again for your second or fifth trip to Singapore. In Chinatown, the closest MRT station is Chinatown MRT Station of the North-East Line and Downtown Line, just a few stations away from Little India, Orchard, and Clarke Quay.
