The staff were incredibly welcoming and the hotel was very tranquil and relaxing. It served as a great base to do everything we wanted to do in the area. We will definitely be back!

La Paris Estate was a lovely place to base our Winelands visit from. The staff we came in contact with was above and beyond the most friendly and helpful of any we encountered on our trip. From our check in with Grant and Duran, to our meals with Lovemore and Antoine, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Grant went so far out of his way to be helpful, driving us into town for dinner and my husband to and from golf...he was the best! The rooms are nice, could maybe use a little more scrubbing, but overall I would stay here again with no hesitation. And the food at La Paris Bistro was some of my favorite of the trip. Great place to stay!

Simple motel with a to and a small fridge in the room. Both the room and the bathroom were clean and they provided housekeeping service. Checking and checkout were quick and the reception staff were friendly. When I requested additional towels, they were provided immediately. Parking is in the back and is shared with a small casino next door. A 10 minute drive to downtown Otta.

We stayed here for the long weekend on the Civic Holiday. But you need a vehicle because the city centre is not accessible by foot. The staff and the owner are very kind and helpful. We had difficulty sleeping the first night because the people upstairs walked all night. We addressed our concern and were upgraded to a suit, which solved the problem. Would definitely return if we came back

We stayed here for 2 nights and were very happy. The room was clean and looked recently renovated. The staff was friendly. The wifi was good. The city center is very easy to reach by bus from the hotel to the next one.

I wouldn't return, despite its excellent location. It was extremely simple to move around because this motel was so conveniently located close to the downtown of Otta. The rooms had a modest decor but were clean. The bed covers should be changed. Just a few channels for English were available. The wifi was good. We spent two nights there. We weren't dressed up while we were away all day. The blanket was pulled up, leaving numerous lumps and bumps underneath. It wasn't a big deal, but it merely demonstrated a lack of attention to the little things. A few additional cushions would have been nice. The noise from the floor above would be my biggest complaint, though. You could hear every step from the room above. Even 300 in. I. There are no eateries nearby, with the exception of the Shawarma shop next door.

The room had a large est floor, two chairs, and a table on the terrace with a carpet. It was wonderful to sit outside in the warm june evenings. The room is spacious and has a very comfortable bed. There is a table and two chairs in the room. A bar is attached to the motel and drinks can be purchased there and a free cup of coffee is available in the morning. Parking area close to the motel. It is best to leave your vehicle at the motel and take the outside bus that stops outside to enter downtown Otta.

Let me start by saying that it is an utterly beautiful estate and the on-site personalised service that I received from the few staff was top-class. The bistro's food was impeccable. That said, I do have a couple of issues and wished that I had done extensive research prior to booking. I did not realize that the estate was a 15 minute drive out of Franschhoek and rather isolated. I also did not know that it was directly across the road from a prison. (Sure, for some overseas tourists knowing that Nelson Mandela was once imprisoned there may be of interest). Their cancellation policy, compared to other establishments, was rather harsh. If you cancel your booking immediately or a month prior you lose 50% and 100% 30 days before staying. Trying to email or communicate with the actual hotel staff took a number of emails and phone calls. It is essentially a wedding venue that offers accommodation and its restaurant is not open Mondays & Tuesdays, so if you happen to stay on those days (as we did) their is no lunch or dinner option or any other usual hotel / self-catering amenities and things you'd expect. Yes, there is a lovely swimming pool and garden, but that's it. If you're looking to socialize or even see other guests you'd have to drive into town for that. One's experience at La Paris may be very different Wed-Sun, especially if the place is fully booked and busy. We did have a lovely stay though, but I do think their pricey rates could be lowered for Mon/Tues occupancy.
