My partner and I stayed one night at this great place! After entering the main gate it was a little difficult to find but eventually we did. Parking is reasonable. The view from their main amenities area is fantastic. We did not use any of the amenities but it all seemed like a great offering. Very nice, easy access to the lagoon which is beautiful to experience. The room itself was just enough space for the 2 of us, with a very comfortable bed and great shower. The property owner greeted us upon arrival and showed us around. She even gave us some local insight with recommendations. I strongly encourage you to give this place a try!

We really enjoyed staying at the The Whaling Station. It is a very safe and protected area with convenient parking. We liked the walk to the lagoon and being personally welcomed by Kasia who gave us excellent recommendations.

The Whaling station has a perfect location, the staff are helpful and friendly. The managers are always available to help. The walk to the lagoon is a perfect way to start the day. The Whaling station is close to the centre of town, Old Nick village is down the road and everything feels very safe and secure.

Superlative and ultimate calm resting place for those whio need a base in Pleetenberg region, just off N2 en route to Tstiskama. Excellent clean facilities- swimming pool, kitchen, lounge, bbq and of course rooms. The view over the bay is beautiful and has its own private walkway to the lagoon. Its located within a secure enclosed golf course. However the icing on the cake is the owner Kasia, who shows unbelievable kindness, care and attention, as she ensures you arrive safely and then will advise you on all things local depending on your needs and requests. She subsequently regularly checks in with you to make sure your trip is hassle free. So strongly recommend you stay here you wint be disappointed.

Great stay and accommodation. Warm welcome and helped with bags by Stonard. Within secure golf complex but away from golf course. Great views to Plett especially from the pool area. Stayed in a rondavel which was different and had peaceful sleep. Good filling breakfast with attentive service from the staff. Would stay again.

The key benefits of our stay, as well as the timely and effective service provided by the manager and his staff, were the swimming pool with recliner and the bar area with a view. I liked the free use of canoes and the rule of the river. Our particular room was small and facing the dining area, which required the curtain and windows to ensure privacy.

We will definitely be back. Our stay at the whaling station was an amazing experience. The view is to die for, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. Everything is in top condition, from the pool to each room. The breakfast is served with a smile and is delicious.

Beautiful setting, view, and scenery. The facilities are spotless and have all the ingredients for a great breakfast. However, the customer service was extremely subpar, I bad service. After payment, we did not receive a proper invoice. It was just a few pen scribbles on a piece of paper. No breakfast was served on a silent risk and porridge was provided, we had to ask for it! The kitchen and appliances are shared with the visitors, some of our food disappeared from the refrigerator. We believe that other visitors may have taken their meals by mistake. However, the whaling station should have been better tasked with managing this because it was still an inconvenience. Also, no tag was provided to us, but we had to keep reminding the guards at the gate that we were staying at a whaling station. Again, this would have improved the customer service substantially.

I made a last-minute reservation and was contacted within minutes asking if I needed anything extra or unusual. They were incredibly accommodating to our simple requests. The views and tranquility of the location will undoubtedly draw me back with my family the next time I visit the area.

Die Lage, die Aussicht waren top! Wir haben hier drei Tage verbracht. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig. Allerdings merkt man der Einrichtung an, dass sie schon ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel hat. Leider können wir das Frühstück überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Im Vergleich zu anderen Häusern entlang der Garden Route war es enttäuschend! Angelika und Mario
