We stayed at Casa El Guru for a week and it was wonderful. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Javelin, the owner, and the lady who looked after us were absolutely brilliant, they went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible! We stayed from August 15 to August 31st, and the week went by too fast. There was a lot going on in LA that weekend, and the highlight for me was the firework display in the harbor, it was great! I definitely will come back to Laura and Casa El Guru, it was an estupendo! Is. Before you leave, brush up on your Spanish.

This hotel is quite charming and in a great location for visiting the region. We were traveling by car and found it a bit challenging to find because we were not familiar with the area, but when we arrived in town, I asked for directions at the petrol station. The room had modest views and small windows, but it was tastefully decorated. We were warmly welcomed. Breakfast is the only food served, so you must walk down to town to have other meals or snacks. The hotel is located on a steep, narrow street away from the town center. Easy walk down, but a bit of a walk back up. We stayed for three days, which made for a great starting point to the vacation.

The room is decorated nicely and unique. The location is close to the port and restaurants. The friendliness of the staff here is also good, and the pool is so amazing with panoramic views. This place is so fantastic.

I made a short reservation at this hotel, expecting to have only a brief vacation. We all decided to stay an extra night because we were all so enamored by the establishment and the proprietor Javelin. It's a fascinating hotel that is both intriguing and elegant. The fixtures and furnishings are of exemplary quality, and they are clearly done with keen eye for detail. Javelin is very enthusiastic, and if you take any interest, he'll go with you to the hotel and describe why each room is decorated in a specific style. It was wonderful to sit back and relax while admiring the town and the hills beyond, and the views from the terrace were incredible. However, there were a few things that we felt could be improved, the hotel's description states it has air conditioning but there are no, and we found the bedroom stuffy at night and had to open the window. Therefore, my husband and I were bited. The breakfast was another disappointment. It was very limited and primarily consisted of cakes and prepackaged buns. We wouldn't have been off of returning, though, because we loved the location and the proprietor.
