If you're looking for a 5-star hotel, this isn't for you, but if you're looking for a great base to explore the wonderful area of Santo, and a place with fantastic links to Valentina, this could be it. The room was simple but completely functional. Could have used some taco, but it was clean and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. There was aircorn, which worked really well and the room overlooked the station, there was very little noise at night. Despite the fact that the room overlooked the station, there was only a very little noise at night. Even if there had been, the price for the location would be a little more. There are many restaurants close by, but this hotel does not have a restaurant facility. A short walk will get you into Santo's historic district. Don't miss this, it's the most stunning but understated place!.

We would most definitely return there. On a family excursion, we spent the night in Santo. This hotel was close to the station and had a neat parking area on one of the main streets, only 10 to 12 minutes from the ancient town. We made the decision to stop by and request two double rooms because of its excellent location. We had a very pleasant welcome from the owner, who showed us the rooms and allowed us to select two double rooms on the first floor. We had two little balconies, one with a sea view and one with a nice view of the ancient Romanmedieval city. We spent 98 euros in total, and the rooms were fairly basic but comfortable, with even the bidet. The proprietor was a really nice guy. He not only provided us with a map and all the information needed to explore the town, but he also provided us with excellent recommendations for breakfast locations. He and his wife were quite cordial and expressive, mainly in English, Spanish, and Italian. We had a great time in Santo, with a nontourist and spontaneous atmosphere, and with moonlight we visited the stunning medieval castle and roman ruins.

The time was not planned and extremely welcome, though we are on a cycling journey from France to Portugal. The room, numbered 44, was roomy, minimal, and quiet, with wifi, a shower, a bidet, a loo, air conditioning, plenty of hot water, and clean towels. There were no tea or coffee-making facilities, but a shop up the road was where you could get a cup. When he hauled our two loaded bicycles from street level into the foyer, where they were securely stowed for the night, we received a warm welcome and lots of encouragement.

The location is near the train station, the cafe next door. We spent a night on foot in the town center and went to the medieval festival. If there are any reservations about staying here, I suggest you first come here. Although the accommodations are simple, they are clean. The owner, Pepe, speaks very limited English but has no trouble communicating. He was very friendly and introduced us to his wife and daughter, who are both English speakers. Only 44 euros. Pepe gave us a tourist map and advised us where to go. Look for vertical green and white hotel sign next to the station, men next to the railway station.

We had not planned on staying in Santana but were happy we did. The local museum and castle are well worth the visit. The hotel was small but very nice and the owner is great. There is a nice restaurant with friendly staff next door. For 44 it was a great deal.
