Rent och fint rum. Sköna sängar jämfört med med andra ställen. Personalen vänlig och serviceminded. God mat med stora portioner!

The chef was outstanding, Nalin had 28 years experience and presented us with meals of a high standard with great service. They were in the process of renovating but this did not deminish our experience. All the staff were friendly and the meals were inexpensive. We wish the new owner and staff great success as their attitude and attention to guest requests warrants reward.

Rent rom Veldig stort fint basseng. Veldig godt mat. Anbefaler å spise middag her. Spennende å bo i hytte oppi trærne. Vi besøkte Lionrock og var på village tur. Begge deler anbefales. Vi bodde her kun en natt, men kunne veldig gjerne bodd her to netter. Anbefaler stedet sterkt.

This was for sure one of the best experiences, this is not a hotel! You find a family in Sri Lanka! Mahenda and his family are the most kind people you could find. We miss them! The room is basic, a charming cabin with a great A.C, a refreshing pool good to relax after exploring, they can also cook a great meal for dinner, you can see peacocks beautiful birds all over this beautiful property. 💯 recommended

We had a very enjoyable and memorable stay at Eighth Wonder Resort. The tree house was spacious and clean with lovely views of the surrounding forest. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant and pool area were beautiful and well maintained. We had problems getting mobile reception, so the manager lent us a wifi router free of charge. Such a big help and very gracious! The area has heaps of wildlife. Our tree house was visited by a troop of monkeys one morning. Very special, but be safe and keep your shoes indoors!

Eighth Wonder was a unique and charming break from run of the mill resorts. What really makes it shine is the peacefulness of the property, you can hear the sounds of the town outside just melt away as you come in. The rooms have a hand crafted charm, and the staff was attentive, accommodating, and friendly.

Was reluctant to book this hotel after reading some of the negative reviews. We were so pleasantly surprised. The treehouse was beautiful clean, comfortable and in a beautiful property where elephants, monkeys, buffalo and fire flys can be seen <3 Even with nature, is close to amenities and the manager Mahinda ordered good priced tuktuks takinf us to a lovely area for dinner, which was catered for the foreign tourist and the food delicious and vibe amazing :) to top it all off i had an injury which needed stitches (not properties fault) and this was very late at night. Mahinda rushed me to hospital with his friend who drove the tuk tuk and stayed up with me all night and translated on my behalf to making sure that i was treated and safe. They both stayed up all night and didnt expect anything in return. Really lovely kind people especially Mahinda who seems to mainly run the properly on his own and is probably ran ragged but never complains. I would say that in general if you are expecting extreme luxury in Sri Lanka , that you are unlikely to get this, especially at the current time when Sri Lanka is really suffering from different issues and is recovering from the tourist industry being completely shut down with covid. The people are amazing and honestly couldnt do more to help, Mahinda an absolute angel, come to Sri lanka and enjoy it as it is now and help it recover, they deserve it ! Give this property a chance please, better than most in Sri Lanka !!

+ Swimming pool (great in day & also when lit up at night); hotel set in large garden; manager friendly & spoke good English - Breakfast very average; chalets have tiny bathrooms and little noise insulation, definitely not 25sqm, book other room types 3km to Sigiriya, 300Rs in tuk-tuk, or 14R in bus every 30 mins (also to Dambullah)

We enjoyed our stay here and our children loved sleeping in a “tree house”. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. Super with our children. A little way out of town though so required transport to get into central Sigiriya.

Our host on arrival and who was there for the entire stay was very friendly and helpful! He helped us with recommendations and arranged a Tuk Tuk for us to do a sunrise hike! The property is fine for a more affordable option. It's a little far for walking but doable. Took us about 30/40 min walking into town and there are lots of Tuk Tuks if you need. While the pool was a much needed amenity during the hottest part of the day, it does need some fixing up.

Don’t book that hotel it not safe and it completely different than the pictures. I canceled my reservation because I cannot stay that place with my family. I’m not recommended.

This was one of my worst hotel experiences ever, with about 40 nights of hotel stays a year. Check-in was a manual, hand-written process. There was a general sense of disorganisation, and some discussion about whether the room was paid or not. Our driver seemed shocked that they did not have driver accommodation and thought the room they proposed to him was too dirty - he decided to leave straight away. The room-type we booked, a separate structure around the pool, was not available, and we were shown to a wooden tree-house with air conditioning that did not work properly, and which was not very clean. At the reception area, a group of very unhappy-looking guests who were waiting to leave told us that there was never anyone around to help. In the few hours we stayed, there were plenty of people milling around but nobody interested to help much (although they did carry our bags, after a wait). The staff claimed the wifi was temporarily down, but I think this was a lie since the router equipment (and only computer in sight) was lying heaped in a corner, unplugged and covered with enough dust to suggest it hadn't been moved for some time. Despite allegedly being full, the place was suspiciously silent. The restaurant looked unappetising, although we did not eat there. As night fell an hour or so later, the power failed and we decided to cut our losses, call our driver back and leave ASAP. Staff were at best indifferent. Avoid at all cost.
