The hotels accommodations are excellent. The rooms were adequate and the restrooms were adequate. Mark and Karie offer a good breakfast spread. Although there were no variations over the four days, we still found the breakfast to be satisfying, tasty, and sufficient. Karin was also able to provide excellent advice on places to visit or hike if the weather was not conducive to seeing the mountain jungfrau. The menu was fairly limited, but the supper that was served at the restaurant was tasty. I tried 3 other restaurants and the fondue and roti during my entire trip through Switzerland. This place is a good little town that is close to all the tourist places. It is extremely good. The hotel has plenty of free parking, even though Lauterbrunnen is an extremely expensive place to park in public, and the hotel is more limited to this parking. The hotel is in a thriving village on the mountain. On the mountain, there is a miniature bus service available. Karin and markus run the caldron. Whereas you couldnt find a more welcoming, supportive, and efficient host! The proprietor and housekeeper is Karin. Markus is a chef, and he cooks with as much local produce as possible. Everything is delicious. While our room was spacious, it felt cozy because of the rustic decor. We had a terrace with a table and chairs, and a breathtaking panorama of the snowy mountains. The restroom was adequate. Karin was wonderful. She went above and beyond in everything she did for us. The little extra touches were greatly appreciated. Breakfast was excellent. Ordinarily, continental breakfasts rarely include an egg done in any way you like. meats, cheese, and the usual croissants and bread. The hotel is situated on the mountainside in a commonworking community. To get there, you must cross a single, 34 mile corkscrew tunnel of meats and cheese. In July 2018, my wife, adult son, and I stayed for eight days and seven nights. A German friend welcomed us. The Waldrand is hard for us to adequately praise. We generally remained in three of the five rooms, so we got to know them well. All of the rooms were excellent and tastefully furnished. Without Internet, which was a blessing given what is happening in the us. Each morning and every night, we had breakfast and dinner there. On weekends and holidays, they do not provide dinner, but they offered suggestions that we enjoyed. The food was excellent and varied. It was exactly what we were seeking away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. Excellent place to use as a home base to take in the sights and hikes in the region. I strongly suggest renting your car because isenfluh is served by public transportation, but not often.4.2/59 Jun 2023

The other aspects of the hotel arent taking away from it, but the location is paramount here. The view is dominated by mountains from the room, balcony, restaurant, or patio. Such an amazing view. The room was a decent size, clean, and comfortable. The staff is polite and accommodating, and the food is excellent. We werent swayed by the road leading to the village. Part of it includes a spiral tunnel that ascends as you go. It completes more than a complete circle. Its fine for two cars to pass, but when we encountered a lorry, we had to reverse quite a long way to a passing point. Not a huge problem, but it was worth it for the views.4.2/515 Sep 2022

My mother and I stayed in Isenfluh for the week, and with Waldrand being the only restaurant in the lovely village, we gladly chose to eat there every night for dinner. We appreciate Karin and her staff for giving us advice on what to do in the area and taking the time to talk to us and learn more about Swiss culture! because it is so good and the view from the porch is unmatched to any restaurant view I've ever had. Karin and her husband were really kind because they run the restaurant and hotel, which they also do an excellent job of. Every bite is incredibly tasteful and in good condition. Everything on the menu is worth trying because it is all delicious and perfectly cooked!Popular Facilities
