The karate experience is always fantastic. We are a family with one child and frequently visit the hotel, which is very comfortable and family friendly. The room is spacious, clean, comfortable, and beautiful, with a lovely view of the mountain landscape. The room has a fantastic cosmetic line of shampoo, conditioner, soap and cream that has a very good fragrance and good quality. There is also beverage like coffee and some soft drinks available. The service is very kind and caring. The breakfast buffet has a wide selection of options, and everything is very delicious and of excellent quality. The wellness area is beautiful, tidy, and very relaxing and offers many massages and therapies. The indoor pool is great during the winter, as is the outdoor pool area which is not only very beautiful next to nature but also relaxing. The kids area at the spielparadies is also very spacious with lots of toys and activities all day long. The hotel also has a huge outdoor area with mini golf, chess, a tip tent for kids and many other attractions. The entire experience is always great. I can totally recommend it.

This was our first visit to Pontresina and we chose the karate for it's reputation, central location, indoor and outdoor pools, easy access to rail and bus transportation, and nearby hiking trails. Beautiful views of the rose glacier from our room and the half board meal plan. We enjoyed everything the hotel had to offer, including the little things room beauty products and espresso machine for that morning coffee. However, the hotel is large and also caters to guests at the conference center across from the hotel. This means that hotel staff are sometimes overworked to attend to many guests and meal service is affected by lengthy wait times for meal courses. This creates a less thanpersonal sense of the guest, which is typical of hotels in Alpine settings in Italy and Austria. Our room bed and sitting area were comfortable, however the bathroom, an old shower tub with a plastic nonstop mat, was not up to the standard we would expect in a four-star hotel. We did have a great week of exploring and hiking the neighborhood using the transportation pass that is included in the hotel room rate to get around. Take the panorama trail from all vanguard to quotas mural for breathtaking views of mountains, glaciers, and lakes.

The corner suite on the left side has by far the best mountain views. Nothing but eating to enjoy the views in the morning. The skiing holidays at this hotel were most enjoyable. Half board arrangements were great and so was the overall service. I'll be back soon.

We enjoyed a 10-day stay at this lovely hotel in summer 2021. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, and the facilities like the indoor and outdoor pools were of high quality. Service was always good. The hotel managers represent the owner family in such a friendly and hospitable manner, giving the service a very nice personal touch. The interior is a mix of modern and traditional elements with a long history, and this pontresina institution has a lot of charm. Our children, ages 0 and 10, enjoyed it too and we expect to return in summer 2022.
