Good cleanliness and friendly service. Excellent location. The place is a bit old. Dinner is available within a short 100 meter walk from the village.

Since we intended to spend the new year in around zermatt, we made a last-minute reservation at this location, which was the only place in the area with complimentary rooms at a reasonable price. It was not difficult to drive to Teschzermatt because we were traveling in various regions of the country and using a car. On New Year's Eve, we arrived quite late, and the room key was brought to us from the neighboring eatery. Even on a new year's Eve, the area was peaceful. Although there were two couples occupying two rooms, the four rooms we inhabited were fairly quiet. One shared a bath, and another shared a shower without a shower curtain. The beds were comfy. On New Years' Day, we awoke at dawn, and when we looked down from the windows, the view was incredibly stunning great mountains and peace and quiet. The typical brunch comprised cheese, ham, jam, nutella, etc., as well as freshly baked bread that was delectable. We had hot water to pour tea into the flask. Throughout our trip, we only stayed a few hours here, but it is a pleasant one, and I think we can return.

After it was suggested to us, I stayed at Alpenrosli. We took the bus from it to Niklas, which stopped right around the corner, which we were extremely grateful for. The terrific and kind host showed us to a room with a spectacular view of the Reid Glacier that was fine with a double bed and a secure shower room. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the terrace in the intense September sun and having a cold beer before running up the street to check on the route for the next morning. We reserved demi pension and were served a fantastic supper of homemade soup, then roti with ei and speck, followed by a dessert. All of this was very reasonable value. Despite the storm, we had a good night's sleep, and the following morning, a very excellent breakfast made us well prepared for the Europaweg. We wholeheartedly endorse this excellent hotel.

To make sure we were ready for the europaweg's starting the next morning, we decided to remain in Gasenried on the haute route. Gasenried was ideal for us, and I would suggest the Alpenrosli to everyone. There is a roomy and cozy terrace where you can sit in the sun and enjoy a beer and mountain views. The restaurant is excellent, and the host is clearly a skilled cook. Dinner consisted of soup, a delicious chicken on a split toasted bun, and sausage rotis. It was a surprise that there was no dessert, but we didn't have room anyway. Breakfast was fantastic and by far the best on the whole trek. It included cereals, a wide selection of very fresh pastries, breads and rolls, including hot croissants with almond filling, cheese, meats, boiled eggs, and coffee fresh. Lunch didn't require us! If you can afford it, I would suggest booking a room. We had the dormitory to ourselves, which was the only plus I could give. It is a little dirty, and oddly situated in the basement through another room piled with what appears to be the contents of a different establishment. I've removed a star for that, but otherwise, we loved this place and would pick it back again.

We took a bus from niklaus to this small village, high on the mountain, after we were well into our hike on the haute route. It is in a beautiful setting with a glacier in the background and overlooking a beautiful, verdant valley. The hotel is perfectly adequate, but it wasnt very clean. There were 5 of us and unlike many places we have stayed on the hike like hostels and pensions, this is a real hotel with private en suite rooms. I had hair in the bathtub, but it was still nice to have a private bath. It would be wonderful if the place cleaned and put extra thought. We had a really amazing bartender cook and we ate there pork steak and pumpkin soup. Excellent and drank a few beers. It was fun, but the place needed a little tac.
