We stayed here in June and then returned in October. It's still a great place to stay and we actually walk to the nightmare this time, about a minute walk, or 100120 nt per taxi ride. In addition, you can book the hotel free shuttle again at a fixed time. Breakfast is nice to us and they change the menu every day. We also walk to Taipei train station since this time we did not rent a car. Otherwise, it is about a 100-minute taxi ride to Taipei train station. There are also buses available, but we wanted to walk so we could eat more at the night markets.

We stayed there for two nights. It was a very good hotel, we thought. Our room was large enough for two persons. A large, comfy bed, a small table and chairs, a wardrobe, and bedside cabinet. The bathroom had a bathtub and shower, a large washbasin, and a Japanesestyle toilet that was really useful. Everything was tidy. The breakfast selection was excellent and generally delicious. While being a bit too open-minded for my tastes, the staff was helpful and polite. They offer a free shuttle for night markets, but you must make a reservation at least one day in advance. We had a great location just across from the Watashi department store, close to the literature museum, and a confucian temple. The bus stop on the route that leads to Amping Fort is also close. It is also convenient for the bus trip to her Taiwan station.

The price is high because the weekends are over and the quality of the accommodation is terrible. I found an old hotel with a good location that was strategically located near the Watashi department store. The room size is small and the window is not open. There is a musty smell that echoes the old building.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay and would return. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The shower pressure was fantastic. I had a great night's sleep. They also provide free use of the washing machine and dryer, which was an excellent service because it was extremely hot and humid. I had spare t-shirts in my backpack, so I could wash the sweaty shirts before putting them back in my suitcase. Breakfast was basic and nothing special, but nothing special either. Next time, I would choose a room-only rate. The reception staff introduced me to the night markets and Taipei station at the time of check-in. I just wrote a note and didn't take any action because I wasn't sure how long I would check out. The next morning on my check-out day, I inquired at the reception if I had to book a shuttle bus to the station, and I was informed that it was required a day in advance and the same day booking was not accepted. When I read the time table again and carefully read it, I noticed it was a mention of a one-day advance reservation. Sure, I'm sorry that I didn't read it correctly, but when the reception staff introduced the shuttle bus, she could have mentioned the booking's time limit. This was my first visit to this hotel, but my experience was the same as the previous time. Breakfast is less western friendly than some hotels, but then you're no longer in Kansas. Plenty of food to choose from and good strong espresso. The staff was to the last excellent, friendly, helpful and fluent in English. I never had to ask someone to repeat themselves. The bathroom has a reasonably sized walk-in shower and no shaving mirror, but the lighting is adequate. My only gripe is the number of outlets. Three were counted, one behind the bed night lamp, one next to the desk business desk, and one to the left of the to, near where your suitcase would be stored. If you need a safe, the room has one. The taxi to and from her station takes approximately 20 minutes and costs 450 nod. The hotel offers a shuttle service, but not available 24 hours a day. Talk to them about that.
