I was just coming off a tour and had an extra night to spend in Arusha. Rather than spend the night in the tour hotel I decided to try Mc-Elly's for about 4x LESS the price. The area in the daytime is a bit chaotic (industrial area) but it's the real Africa not what I saw in the tour hotel. As soon as the sun goes down it was very quiet. Loved sitting out on my balcony. Breakfast was great, lots of variety and the manager of the hotel even greeted me asking me how I found everything. Nice touch! Recommend this hotel.

Stayed in McEllys for 8 nights in June/July 2015. A very comfortable, spotlessly clean and reasonably priced hotel situated just of Arusha main street. Staff were all excellent and helpful with very good English skills - reception, restaurant, bar, Manager and domestic staff all strived to make the stay smooth and pleasurable. Breakfast good and evening meals menu limited but well cooked, tasty and good value. Fantastic views of Mt Meru from some rooms and the roof. I would highly recommend McEllys as a comfortable and secure base for a visit to Arusha.

We stayed in Arusha at McElly's for 2 nights, either side of a safari. Starting from before we checked in, The staff were all very helpful and willing to help. I emailed the hotel on a couple of occasions and I had lovely prompt replies from the manager Sayuko, which was very reassuring. We were only given one towel between two of us (as seems to be quite normal around these parts) and the extra towel asked for was promptly sent up to us. We also left some of our luggage at the hotel for 6 days while we went away on safari. this was no trouble to them at all. Sayuko also got us out of a jam when we wanted to change flight dates, and let us check out an hour or so late. My husband and I were particularly impressed to see him speak to each guest individually, making sure all was well. this was done both in reception, at breakfast and evening meal. The area around the hotel was not particularly wonderful, but that seems to be normal around the big cities. We did not feel particularly comfortable walking out at night and indeed were warned not to do so but get a taxi instead, particularly as it was round New Year's celebrations. We chose to eat in the hotel at nights. Not a problem during the day. All in all a very comfy stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged our taxi in the morning and it all went smoothly. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and our room was on the small side, but very comfortable. The beds had mosquito netting, though it hardly seemed necessary. The toilet tank didn’t feel, but there was a water spray available to fill it manually, so it really wasn’t a problem. The restaurant on side was really pleasant. The vegetable curry was outstanding. The chicken rosemary was meager. The prices were very fair. We were able to bring wine from the restaurant to our room after dinner, which was convenient. The area was very congested, and it was challenging for our driver to find it. It felt chaotic and a little dangerous. We did not go out as it was late and we didn’t feel comfortable. All in all, it was fine for an In-and-out, delivered and picked up by taxi stay. Would probably choose something different if I was staying for a few days.

I recently spent a night at Mc-Elly's after completing a safari. I was very happy with the hotel, especially for the price. The room was clean, spacious, and had a balcony. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Although the surrounding neighborhood was nothing special, it was less than a 10 minute walk to the central area of Arusha.

Stayed for 1 night on 2 occasions. 1st night; no hot water in our room and very slow service in hotel resaurant. 2nd night; hot water but no sink plug or TV control. If eating at hotel, advise ordering meal well in advance and then stipulating time you wish to be served. If using hotel taxi service allow plenty of time as driver may go absent. Hotel manager was very helpful and attentive.

値段で考えた場合、清潔度などが満足できるレベルではないと思います。 半額以下の4000円以下なら妥当かと。。。

The hotel is in a noisy location, the meals are limited and of inferior quality. Linen is old, towels grey. No place for toiletries in the bathroom. Closet had one hanger. Overpriced for this experience. Would not go back. Internet access is free but the network is slow and intermittent. Hotel number is also incorrect which can be tricky to find if our end up with a taxi driver who speaks no English!
