We were a bit sceptical about the resort at first due to previous reviews. However it was a great 10 day stay for us. The food was lovely, couldn’t get enough of the prawns. The room with the sea view was amazing. The staff were great, thank you Maria you made our stay very comfortable. If you need some where close to the airport and 5min away from Stone town then I recommend Zanzibar beach resort.

Quiet resort but peaceful. Staff are excellent and very polite. Rooms are cleaned and sprayed for insects every day. Tours are available and bookable at reception. I would stay again

Sehr alte Anlage. Der Strand eignet sich nicht zum schwimmen, der Pool ist ok. Das grosse + des Resorts sind die extrem netten und kompetenten Mitarbeiter. Würde immer wieder dahinkommen, trotz der nicht mehr standarmässigen Ausstattung.

Le site de l'hôtel est magnifique avec ses jardins et sa situation en bord de mer. Une chance que la piscine est accueillante parce que la plage est pour ainsi dire inexistante. La chambre était agréable, spacieuse et bien aménagée avec un grand balcon privé que j'ai beaucoup apprécié. Par contre si j'avais été plombier je ne me serais pas reposé j'aurais chercher à améliorer la pression de l'eau, la stabilité de la température de l'eau et le fonctionnement du cabinet de toilette, dommage parce que la salle de bain est spacieuse et confortable. L'hôtel est magnifique avec son cachet arabique du siècle dernier tous les espaces communs sont à air ouverte donnant l'impression de vivre dehors tout en étant à l'intérieur c'est assez exotique pour la petite québécoise qui vie obligatoirement entre quatre murs. Le personnel a été aimable, disponible et chaleureux ils m'ont fait sentir comme quelqu'un d'important n'est ce pas un peu ce que l'on recherche en vacances ne plus être la personne au service des autres. En conclusion il est bien situé par rapport aux différents points d'intérêts touristiques.

We were upgraded to a lovely room by the huge pool, ably managed by Richard, the recreation manager who is an excellent , friendly person. All staff were really nice. It is a short and cheap taxi ride either to Stonetown or the airport and a good place tor relax after your safari. Thanks to GM Rajesh Roy for his kind assistance. This property was ok I did not appreciate the arrival process how I like the spacious room and cleaning. I did not appreciate on an occasion the kitchen messing up the food. Also the area is not a safe area to walk around in

Lovely and caring staff, we immediately felt welcome, they were helpful with the luggage, and provided late checkout. However, the building and facilities are old and outdated, air conditioning and wifi did not work.

We booked a hotel with full board, but we haven't spent much time there because we've been on day trips. The staff is incredibly pleasant, the hotel is spotless, and the food is great. However, the meal service was quite slow. We waited nearly an hour for a meal.

After some unpleasant issues with resort to start Mr. Sanyal who was hotel manager tried efforts to fix my accommodations to what i payed for. Property is pretty but needs some upgrades. There is no actual beach to lounge at but beautiful views at least. I believe if they would invest on clearing out and cleaning the area front of the beach area some guest would still swim at high tide. There is no pool bar, which was upsetting because i had to keep going into bar at the lobby to order drinks, which took about 20 minutes to get one drink. The staff are very pleasant but the timing for orders were a bit much for such a big hotel. At some points id go to the bar and order 3 drinks at once with ice on the side just so i wouldn't have to wait 20-30min for drinks. The menu could be worked on a bit. The same things every morning for breakfast was a bit tiresome and only one menu for lunch and dinner. Not much variety. At the restaurant at times i would have to get my own salt and pepper and find ketchup. I do hope they work on these issues because the resort does have a lot of potential.
