Best value for money budget hotel stay, in my opinion. Perfect family run travel agency, located in the center of Chiang Mai's old city walls. Awe inspiring, unrivaled ambiance compared to many modern hotel facilities. More like a family compound. The owner organizes a fantastic full day cooking class that includes going shopping at the citys Chinatown market in the morning to buy your ingredients and returning to the hotel kitchen for the cooking classes.

This place is very comfortable, which is very different from cold and mass produced chic hotels in this place. The room is very clean. The owner is really helpful in booking tours, general information and most importantly in a medical emergency I have.

We stayed here for 6 nights in October. Our first room was very disappointing. It was small and not very clean, especially the mosquito net! Do not book 17, 18, or 19. Moved to a much bigger room after 2 nights. Much more comfortable, cleaner and heavy wooden furniture. We paid a bit more but it was worth it. Breakfast was included in the price. Very central, just inside the city walls and right beside walking street on a Sunday night.
