Great location in old town. We were at sultanahmet square with a short walk up a few steep streets. Wish the pillows and blankets were nicer, but weren't horrible. We had a power outage one whole night and not sure what the cause was, but it seemed like it was primarily for our building and not the neighborhood. Staff was helpful, although not terribly proactive. It was a good experince, but not great.

Wonderful local hotel. The owner and staff are most friendly and helpful. The room was small but worked out perfectly. I would absolutely recommend this accommodation without a doubt. It is in a small, friendly neighborhood. Tons of places to eat and all are very good and reasonable.

"Ein traumhafter Aufenthalt! Die Lage direkt neben der Hagia Sophia ist unschlagbar – man spürt die Geschichte förmlich. Das Zimmer war wunderschön im historischen Stil eingerichtet und absolut makellos. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die Herzlichkeit des Personals. Ein echtes Juwel in Istanbul!"

Hotel was clean but it’s in the old city and difficult to get to. The staff wasn’t particularly helpful and there are no amenities at all. It felt more like a hostel but it was fine if all you want is a safe and clean place to spend the night.

They initially told us our reservation was not valid because it was through Expedia. Beware, the guy at the front desk told us this hotel doesn’t take bookings through Expedia any more. They had available rooms, so in the end they took us. One room was in the basement. It smelled very bad, mildew. The power went out the first afternoon we were there. It didn’t get fixed till the next afternoon. Everyone woke up the first morning to find we were all locked in the hotel. Other guests had searched high and low for keys and found none. We ended up letting one diabetic woman climb through the basement window to get out. She had low blood sugar and had to be let out. I think the door finally got opened at around 8:30 am. Rooms were ok, the ground floor room didn’t smell like the basement one. Beds were ok, not great. Staff was nice. I realize not much of what happened was their fault. The booking issue through Expedia was a big problem. I’d book some place else if you’re planning on using Expedia. I’ve never had that happen before. We showed them our confirmation and they told us that our Expedia confirmation was not enough. The room is only confirmed once the hotel sends a second confirmation. They ended up honoring the price and putting us up, but only because they had availability. Careful.
