Arriving around 1 am to be informed that checking in is strictly RP ok while staying an hour at a pub up the road, highly recommended. I went back in the evening for a meal. The room is very quiet and clean and had a comfortable bed. Breakfast was included in the room's price.

My partner and I were starving, hungover, and depressed about our holiday ending and having to return to the kids. And we happened to find this tiny treasure. My partners are still in shock at how great his breakfast was. He wanted to know what sausages they used, but he said he wouldnt even bother asking because it must be a secret. He said a breakfast thats great must have secrets! Even the tea was amazing, I think I finished the pot in about 2 minutes, not because there wasnt enough, it was just good tea! The eggs were cooked flawlessly, well everything was! I doubt even Gordon Ramsay could have made a nicer breakfast. Our moods definitely improved 100, not just because of the 5 star breakfast we just inhaled. But because the staff were very friendly and welcoming, the waitress even complimented me on my nails, which made me feel less a mess! Were back home now and were depressed that we do not have those breakfasts here now. Might even make a 4 or 5 hour journey back to get another one.

This review appears to be from early 2021, a couple of years ago. Because of the affordable price and attractive room conditions, we are from Australia, and I made reservations in advance. My first impression when we arrived was, Oh no, my wife will kill me. There is significant noise, which will overwhelm us. We are right on the main road. The rooms are modestly quiet, and they are very roomy and lived up to the photos. My wife needs bread because she is celiac. They were gone, but one of the waitress assured us that she would bring some for us for breakfast. She lived up to her word. We also ordered supper. The staff had pleasant accommodations that were reasonably priced and more than adequate, and the entire cuisine was excellent. If it has since gone downhill, it would be exceedingly disappointing, but we have fond memories of our visit. After filling up the car with petrol from the neighboring garage, we proceeded to tour Lyme Reg, where we came back the following day after doing a little sightseeing. At that time, there was absolutely no sign of racism or discrimination.
