Helen and Scott were extremely welcoming and the room was outstanding. The bed was very comfortable and we had an amazing sleep. The shower was constant and the ensuite was spacious. We had to fill in breakfast requests the day of check in and what was ordered was cooked to perfection and hot. The quality of the produce was exceptional. The fruit salad option was freshly prepared. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Abingdon to other travellers - we had two nights here to go to a concert at the Princess Theatre in Torquay. It was about 20 minutes walk to the theatre but very pleasant through Torre Abbey Gardens and along the sea front. Our room was very clean and pleasant, every attention to detail was included - we had homemade cup cakes in the room on arrival, mini fridge with real milk (not the long life cartons), bottled water. We visited on one of the hottest days of the year so the inclusion of a tower fan in the room was very much appreciated. Scott and Helen were great hosts and the food was excellent, with plenty of choice for breakfast. We will definitely use this as a base when we return to Torquay again, especially with the free parking.

Lovely room... smaller than looks in the pictures (just a large bedroom), but hella comfy bed and the air purifier was a life saver for those hot nights. Good walking distance from town - not too far that it became effort but kept you away from the hustle and bustle at night time. Not to mention extremely welcoming hosts!

Torquay has an abundance of B&Bs and we were lucky enough to select an excellent one. The property has been stylishly renovated/decorated and the rooms are very comfortable. There are nice touches such as a free bottle of drinking water for each guest each day and a chocolate 'on each pillow' each night. There is also a bowl of candy on the in-room amenities tray. Breakfast in very good with several choices about what to have to make it 'full'. A useful compendium of things to see and do in the area, in particular a list of the activities/sights that the owners enjoy. In addition, there is a wide range of brochures (on the landing) promoting activities in the area. Janet, who runs Abingdon with her husband, was very friendly and chatty and willing and able to help planning a day out. The only (slight) negative is that the property is a little out of town so it is quite a long walk to restaurants and shops. It's pleasant enough on a nice day and passes some of the major sites in Torquay. Perhaps in recognition of the location, Janet offers evening meals, if ordered in advance. If you're befuddled with choice for a B&B in Torquay, stay at Abingdon.

There are plenty of lovely, "extras" but the most memorable was being attended to and made to feel welcome by the proprietors throughout my stay.

Janet and Andrew were very welcoming and hospitable. They're very knowledgeable about the area and were able to suggest some lovely places to visit. Andrew makes a fab breakfast and they make a great team. Thanks for such a wonderful stay!

We were visiting the area to visit family. Owners obviously take a real pride in their establishment and greeted us with a smile, offer of a hot drink and cake and a welcome to the area. There is parking out front and our king size double bedded room was just what we required for a base during our stay. Nice en-suite facilities and a good size flat screen TV with freeview as well. Will certainly look to stay again when we visit family. Oh, almost forgot, lovely breakfast, basically will cook or provide whatever you want

Hotel was close to main road and garage 24 hours which made it very noisey in the evenings. Staff was ok but didnt say bye when we left hotel.
