It was lovely we were there for a two day break. Staff are lovely and so helpful. Breakfast was lovely . We had the full English which was presented well I had the gluten free version and couldn’t complain . Same for evening meal a varied menu and also a gluten free . vegan , and dairy free . That’s a great choice for people with restricted diets. Also being on the sea front you were on the promenade immediately. Our weather was glorious if a tad cold but it is only March . All in all delightful. .

Most comfortable hotel ive stayed in for a long time. Bedroom really well furnished, bed comfortable and shower amazing. Temperature easy to regulate and quiet. Normally eat outside the hotel, but the bar/restaurant had great decor and atmosphere, food was good too.

From the moment we checked in until we checked out everything was excellent. Our room 205 had a wonderful sea view and was spotless. It was very comfortable and I loved the exposed brick wall. Loved the family room. Ideal for 4. Great restaurant and breakfast, staff here are always so lovely they can't be faulted. The room was super comfortable and loved the decor. This place has real character and we'll definitely be back. Only point to note is the stairs - maybe not ideal for those who have accessibility needs.

Beautiful clean room that overlooked the sea and mourne mountains. Exceptional friendly staff who make sure you have everything that you need for an enjoyable comfortable stay. Plenty of hot water for showers at anytime of the day or night. Rooms have central heating too for your own convenience , but we find the rooms are warm enough anyway.

We had such a lovely stay in the Avoca its a beautiful boutique hotel, loved our room and we were lucky to get a sea view room. The food was also excellent we had dinner one night there and potato bread and soda bread with breakfast was amazing!!!! But most of all the staff were so welcoming and helpful. There's lots to do in Newcastle we would highly recommend the hotel for a nice break away! We will definitely be returning.
