The hotel's location is ideal for walking to the city center, though we had a good time. I just got back from three nights there, and the friendly employees made us feel really welcome. Our room, room 6, was comfortable and tidy but small. Although the room is directly over the neighboring pub's beer garden, which was occasionally quite noisy, the bed was very comfortable. We were woken one morning by the dream's changing the barrels early! Although served in a warm dining room, breakfast was simply continental and a cooked breakfast would cost an additional 16. 50 each day, given how relaxed the population is now.

We stayed from Friday to Sunday. A member of staff came out to give us a parking key fob and the keys to the room. Parking was about a 10-minute walk away on the lawns. I think you can park closer but we had a big vehicle that there was no room for. Parking was great. Our room was on a flight of wooden stairs. The room was very worn out and had numerous stains on the walls. Very little space to put anything. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is fine and comes out on a tray and is left outside your door, the problem is there is nowhere in the room to eat the room is so small there is no space for a table so we sat on the edge of the bed. Not ideal. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom, but if you have long hair, be ready for it to take 20 minutes to dry it. The bathroom is very outdated. The location is good, but next time I would stay somewhere else.

It was good to be greeted outside by the staff and had a key fob that makes us safe to park. The room was nice but not too large. Breakfast will be delivered right to our door. The location is right in the centre of Oxford.

The location was the real saving grace because it was close to all the wonders of Oxford and right on the turf where we had excellent service. There is no late-night noise in this pub because it closes at 10.30. We will definitely return to Oxford but will not remain here because the lodging wasn't as described and was the complete opposite of value for money. We reserved this hotel for the location, as well as for how it was promoted to be full of history and character, yet we were placed in room 16, which is an upscale annexe down an alleyway. Breakfast had to be brought to the room due to covid, which was completely acceptable. On the two mornings we had breakfast on a cute little patio, and while the weather was perfect, we had to squash on the bed to consume it, which was not comfortable while on vacation. The restroom was also small and the electric mira shower seemed to be about as outdated as the television, but at least it actually worked, despite it taking forever to rinsing my hair. There were no complimentary toiletries other than 2 little bars of soap. The location was about clean, but it required a thorough scrub, especially the subsurface of the toilet seat, which was rather grimy. We just got back from a 3-night stay at the Bath Place Hotel, and unfortunately, it is not a place we would return or recommend. The saving grace of this hotel is it's location right in the heart of beautiful Oxford. Parking was also well organized, secure, and right around the corner, albeit at 60 for 3 days. We also must mention that we were here during exceptionally warm weather and our room stayed cool which was a relief. Our initial greeting was friendly enough, but when we saw our room we were very disappointed. It was musty, cramped, and grimy yes, it's 2, but we were shocked that this room could possibly justify 166. 75 per night! Soft furnishings faded out, the walls are patchy, and there was only one shower you had to hold manually! There was hairs all over the bed beyond! Not the welcome wed hoped for after a long journey in anticipation of a restful break from work. My partner mentioned this and we were able to move to an alternative room which we were grateful for, but again, general housekeeping appeared to have gone wrong. The bed was comfortable so we slept well despite the noise from the neighboring pub and the breakfast in bed due to couid was ok, although not the most substantial or high quality.
