This was the first hotel of seven we stayed at on a two week tour of the North and Scotland. And to be honest, it was one of the best. The staff were great, especially Julia in the bar/restaurant. The food was good, it was good value and we were able to park our car right outside our room, which made unpacking and packing easy. Overall, an excellent stay. Thank you.

From start to finish, our 2 day stay was exceptional. Could not fault anything. All the staff that we had contact with were both friendly and professional. The food, of which we had breakfast, evening meal and afternoon tea was beyond our expectations. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious and served in a timely manner. As they say on a popular TV programme, Would you stay here again? Absolutely Yes.

Had a great stay, the hotel was clean, the staff very attentive and the breakfast was great. It was only a short trip to Beamish museum too. I would definitely stay here again.

Quiet hotel location in beautiful countryside. Rooms clean and spacious. Included breakfast good, with help yourself cereal, yogurt, and pastries plus cooked to order hot breakfast. I didn't try it but Sunday lunch is supposed to be great. Finally, the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. All in all a great stay for a very reasonable price.

Im not one for leaving reviews but this place deserves it. What an amazing beautiful venue/hotel. We paid £114 for our room ( plus a charge of £15 per dog,we had 2 dogs with us) Check in was quick and easy. Once we were in our room, they delivered a dog bed and snacks for our dogs and bowls. This was such a nice touch. The rooms (Absolutely LOVE THEM) you can gain access from the inside of the hotel or you have a sliding door that opens to your own personal parking where you can park your car literally right outside your room. ( It was like having our own private chalet) The sliding doors provide bright light into the room but come with black out blinds that actually blocks out the sun, so you can have a lay in, in the morning. The rooms were so warm and cosy and very spacious. You got your tea's and coffee's and complimentary toiletries/hairdryer/tv ect. The bathroom had a very spacious bath with a shower over. The pressure was amazing and boiling hot water ( which I love for a hot bath) heated towel rails kept the bathroom so cosy and nothing beats a warm towel. LOADS of cupboard space in the room including hanging. When we arrived there was a wedding being held and i thought this is going to be one noisy night, but i was wrong. You can hear slight base from the venue where they have music playing. But this seemed to have stopped around 1.30am. But wasn't loud enough to keep us awake. The rooms were very quiet.
