Reception team were nice and location was quiet. The condition of the property and cleaning standards are very disappointing.

I have read alot of negative review about this place, and I am sure some people have had a bad stay. However I wanted to balance things out. My boyfriend and I stayed just one night in this Hostel but we were pleased with our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hostel was reasonably tidy, our beds were ready early so we could put our bags in our room. The beds had clean linen on and were actually very comfortable although quite squeeky. We were suppose to be in a 6 bed shared dorm but ended up only in a 4 bed quite was better. The guys we were sharing with were very quite and respectful.Yes the Hostel is pretty ruff around the edges and could do with quite a bit of refurbishments, but it is a cheap Hostel and for the price I think it is a good deal. Close to the centre of London. As long as yopu don't expect the Ritz and realise you are staying at the bottom end of the market, you will have a pleasent and Cheap stay!

Almost impossible to find!! Their "sign" is a small graffitti on the wall going to the basement where the reception is. If looking for this hostel, look down, not up for a sign. I spent over an hour looking for it. If you don't care about looks, this is the place. The beds were clean, the sink in the bedroom was clean but the carpet had holes and the floor creaked a lot. The internet is so slow, it's insulting and then they charge you for it!! They have shared toilet and shower. The room had good storage space but the TV didn't work and the fridge had a leak and the carpet was damp. This is really a place for students and/or young travellers. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and if you have a problem, they will fix it for you. I don't know about the food because I didn't eat there so I can't comment on that. Some of the staff speaks spanish. If you decide to stay here, take the train from King's Cross to Bayswater and Central Hostel is just a few minutes walk away. It's got supermarkets, shops, restaurants, train and bus stops very close.

The hostel was mostly empty, but space would be tight if it was crowded. There was no wireless internet, and you had to pay to use the computer. Security was good, as there was someone at reception 24/7 and you could have things locked away for you. There was a public kitchen and free tea/coffee available, but not much else. There was a public tv, but few channels. It was clean, and friendly, and well located. If you don't plan on spending much time there, it's a great place to stay on budget.

No cover sheet for blanket. I was so uncomfortable sleep in the bed without flat sheet. Need to bring your own towels shampoo and toothbrush. Everything is old and broke.

Having never stayed at a hostel before it's difficult to compare this stay versus other stays. I booked a single night here very last minute just so that I'd have a cheap place to sleep as I was in between hotel stays and didn't want to spend very much for a 9 hour stay. I didn't make use of any of the facilities aside from the bed. Although I personally would not book here again, this is probably a great hostel only for students or the budget conscious, I'm guessing. The hostel is pretty much the equivalent of an uncomfortable campus dormitory. However, the people staying here were quite friendly. The beds were uncomfortable and the floors felt dirty. Place felt very cramped. Only a single TV and computer terminal available to be accessed. Reception was located in the basement of the building, therefore not very convenient when having to transport ones luggage up several flights of stairs.

This hostel is old, smelly, and very dirty. I don’t recommend it at all. So many other hostels around it that are way better and clean for the same price

The only good thing about this hostel was that it's actually very central in Bayswater. But very difficuly to find when you're first arriving! I must have searched for about half an hour! The staff was friendly, but the state of the place was terrible! There were holes in the carpet in my room, the building is very noisy, I could hear exactly when my upstairs neighbours were moving around in their room (including in the middle of the night). So, I will not be staying here again on my next visit to London.

Einfach GRAUENHAFT!!!! Alles voller Schmutz!

I'm never very picky about where I stay as I tend to spend much more time out of my room than in it. I've stayed in hotels and hostels through out Asia, Europe, Africa, the US and Central America, from 5 star resorts to 1 star hostels, and never complain much. So this I think I can be rather fair in my description. The bad: -The rooms, and entire hostel, are dirty, falling apart, foul smelling and overall very unpleasant to be in. The mattresses are old, uncomfortable and covered in urine stains (everyone I looked at). The bunk beds are small, loud/rickety and packed with little room to move. You get a paper thin sheet (which you can actually see the stains through), a blanket barely long enough to cover your body (smelt dirty along with all the bedding) and a relatively comfortable pillow. The bathrooms are disgusting and have no male/female distinction, so that everyone ends up being covered in urine. Not too big a problem for me, being a male and always wearing shoes in the hostel, but the females (including my GF) hated it. We simply used the restrooms at restaurants during our time out. One of the receptionists was nice and seemed very friendly, the rest were rude. The cleaning staff were the worst, one actually kept trying to peak under the covers at my GF will she slept!? The rooms are very loud and you hear EVERYTHING from inside the hostel as well as on the street through the cracked windows which do not fully close. The good: The location is ok... That all...
