I can’t imagine a better place to stay in Lerwick than the Fort Charlotte Guest House. The place is a gem, a mere steps from the heart of Lerwick. The rooms are clean, quiet and cozy. The staff is hospitable and full of helpful ideas and advice. Ryan’s email communication during and in advance of our stay was exceptional, both timely and informative. The breakfast spread is varied and delicious. I especially enjoyed chatting and sharing experiences with the staff and different world travelers over coffee each morning.

If you like staying in the town center on a pedestrian street with warm and welcoming hosts, this is the place to be. This family-run guest house makes you feel right at home. They are attentive but not intrusive. If there is anything you need, they are there to help. Also their breakfast should not be missed. It was made to order and scrumptious!

The accommodation was perfect. Clean, excellent breakfast, so much choice and could have as much as you could eat. Freshly cooked to your order. friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. It is a credit to Lynette and her staff. Would recommend this to all my friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A charming guesthouse in a wonderful location, a stone’s throw from Lerwick shops & harbour. Also close to the fascinating Shetland Museum and the bus stop for buses to Sumburgh airport. The hosts Jim & Lynne were so friendly & accommodating and provided a very good breakfast. A delightful room with a very comfortable bed and everything really clean. I can’t fault this guesthouse and would stay there again.

This guest house is quite exceptional in all respects. The owners are generous in their welcome and ready to give any information or assistance you may require including the loan of books. Everything is kept immaculately clean. The breakfast is cooked to order and delicious. We cannot recommend it highly enough and would love to return.

Hosts were just like friends - nothing too much trouble - took the time to talk & recommended a few 'must sees & do's' they were happy to look after our food requests too. Helped us out by taking our luggage to ferry terminal for us. Went out of their way to help us. Breakfast was superb. Fresh fruit salad, cereals,many types of teas,amazing choice of cooked breakfast. Can't recommend enough. If you need to stay in Lerwick then this is the place. Free parking not far away. Centre of town location.

We spent 4 nights here. The breakfast was well cooked and wholesome. The room itself was very well maintained, spacious and came with lovely ensuite housing a nice hot, powerful shower. The real stars were our hosts who gave excellent advice on what to see and do in the Shetland Isles. Faultless stay.

This is a lovely guest house right on the main high street whilst this has few cars and is quiet. The owners aren’t on site but we’re for breakfast every morning and couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. I saw no Hotel or other accommodation on Shetland I would rather have been in.
