I will certainly return and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. My daughter received a complimentary flavoured gin for her birthday. The birthday cake was given to the bar staff, candles and a cake topper were placed and brought out to us along with plates and forks. We just got back from this after our family gathering for my daughters birthday. I write to day how impressed we were all with our Grove Ferry journey. From the moment we arrived, we found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. Lovely seating area the fire was lit upon request! The room was clean and spacious. Everything was professional and nothing was too much trouble for them. We had dinner with no complaints from anyone! The breakfast selection was varied and quickly delivered hot.

My wife and I have been here many times over the years and were eager to take a much needed break for our wedding anniversary because we are both key workers. It has consistently been a terrific escape, and we have never heard a single negative comment about the place since we have often stayed here. We have always remained in the same room, which has added sentimental value as we were in that room on our wedding day. Several months before our regular room reservation, we indicated an arrival time. We arrived on schedule, were brought upstairs by a pleasant hostess, but when we got to the hallway, we were informed that we would have to go back downstairs as it was still being cleaned. We went upstairs to enjoy a drink at the bar, which was said to be added to our account and about half an hour later the room was ready given the current pandemic. We were informed that someone was already in the room we had reserved, and they had been there the previous night, so the new room was our only option. When I was finally able to use the restroom and make the most of the amenities, I abrasively acknowledged there was nothing that could be done, and I checked if there was any price difference and was told there was no compensation because anyone could have ordered it at that price. We were incredibly annoyed, and we would have just come for dinner without making a reservations the
