I had a lovely few days here, the hotel is in the most stunning location. The room was spotlessly clean, and had all I needed. The owner of the hotel was lovely and very friendly and accommodating e.g. to an early checkout. I ate there one evening and the food was excellent. Breakfast is also very good!

Ideally situated for walkers. The hotel is 1 min walk from the enterance to the National Park. The room was immaculate. Plenty of hot water and the shower pressure was very good. Some jets flew over its car park during our stay as it is on the Mach Loop. That was an unexpected treat. The owner is very attentive and both evening meal and packed lunch was really nice.

Lovely old property -well maintained. Plenty of parking. Views of the Cader range beautiful. Food both in the evening and breakfast was delicious. Very fresh and nicely presented. Good choice of food. Our host was lovely-very friendly and chatty. We really enjoyed our stay and would go again.

Warm, friendly welcome by the owner. As it turned out, we were the only visitors staying in the hotel, so had a nice opportunity for a chat over a beer - well stocked with what appeared to be the full range of bottled beers from Purple Moose Brewery of Porthmadog. Food was fantastic - both of us had the lamb which was stunning. Lots of it & full of flavour. The accompanying vegetables were equally full of taste. We can confirm that the website comment regarding food: "Our chef Darren cooks & prepares excellent freshly prepared food using local welsh suppliers & products. Darren’s style of cooking is unpretentious, uncomplicated yet well presented & cooked plates with generous portions of homemade food." is absolutely spot on! Equally, breackfast the next morning, though there were only the two of us staying had a full choice of cereals & fruit laid out - all prepared fresh - and again, the "Full Welsh" breakfast set us up for the day's activities. Decent-sized room with equally roomy en-suite completed the accommodation. As there was only the two of us, we stayed in the visitors' lounge rather than going into the Residents' One.

A lovely place to stay. The gentleman who runs this guest house is very friendly and welcoming. The guesthouse is a beautiful old building with buckets of character and original features. The room was very nice with a comfortable bed and great view. The food was a real highlight. We had an evening meal and then breakfast in the morning and everything was delicious. Lots of choice and everything was really great quality. It was such a treat to see fresh fruit on the breakfast table after staying somewhere the previous few nights where the food was not so good! If you're in the area, exploring or hiking this is absolutely a brilliant place to stay!

Had a lovely last minute stay. Hotel is literally steps from the beginning of the Cadair Idris walks. Food was absolutely exceptional and a great selection of local welsh beers. Highly recommended!

Just what my son and I were looking for as a base for a trip up the mountain five minutes away from the door. Very clean, great host, well presented and good food.

Great hotel, tucked away in a welsh hillside. This hotel offers clean and comfortable accommodation with the benefit of a great restaurant offering good home cooked food. The only downside is that WiFi is almost non-existent but that’s a small price to pay considering the great location and views.

We only spent one night here but our stay was quite nice and would come back! Gordon and Michelle were very welcoming. we stayed here primarily for the location, within two miles of Cad West, a primary viewing location to photograph low-flying fighter jets. We enjoyed the setting, facilities and country charm. Our room was well appointed and roomy, so was the bathroom. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious - both dinner and breakfast. Interned was only available in the bar area, but we knew this at the time of the reservation. This can be a bit challenging when you are on the road and making travel plans as you go. We managed and survived. The no TV in the room was not an issue for us. Our room was next to the motorway but the double-pane windows kept the noise away. We truly enjoyed our stay and wish we had more time to explore the area.
