The breakfast was really good & the owners couldn’t do enough for even taking me to my sisters for a funeral. The price was great & I would recommend this guest house to everyone. Well done.

Lovely old house with traditionally furnished rooms. Off road parking to the rear and the town is only 10-15 minutes away. Great hosts and breakfast.

Delightful hosts Derek and Rena are welcoming and professional. Great breakfast, nice room with very good beds, and the best shower of a 2 week stay at multiple properties. Convenient with easy walk to train station and downtown. Highly recommended.

Pleasant and friendly welcome. My room was fabulous, large and nicely furnished and the bed was very comfortable. Large choice of options for breakfast, the cooked breakfast was great. Easy walk into town from the Hamiltons location.

Thank you so much Derek and Rena for such a lovely stay! Hamilton House is a warm and welcoming home with large comfortable rooms and an amazing freshly cooked breakfast! The beds were amazing and I slept brilliantly. Very convenient for the Ice Bowl but also for the Train Station and centre of town. It was also really useful to have use of a fridge and microwave in the dining room to heat up an M&S meal at night (and keep my wine chilled!). Will definitely be back and can’t recommend highly enough…Rena and Derek are wonderful hosts.

Very efficient, helpful and friendly staff. But we found the entire establishment smelled like cigarette smoke, even our non-smoking room.

We had a great stay at Hamilton House – very friendly owners, spotlessly clean property, large comfortable rooms and a great breakfast. Really useful having the car park at the back for our motorcycles, out of sight and under cameras. 15 minute walk in to town. Dumfries is a great base for exploring the area, highly recommended, we will be back!

We had booked for a 3 night stay - the owners were very welcoming and helpful - the breakfasts were fine, if slightly limited in choice e.g. no black pudding or hash browns and only grapefruit segments or prunes to start - what there was was excellent though - the room on the whole was good, although the chairs were not too comfortable and rather low - the en suite was a little restricted in terms of space to store items etc, but otherwise acceptable - overall it was very acceptable for 3 nights, but I was pleased we hadn't booked a longer stay - so whilst there were a few downsides, overall the accommodation etc was very good for a 3 night stay
