Loved the bar and the staff. A friendly relaxed atmosphere, shooting pool and chatting with local folks

Lovely little pub. Food and service was great. Rooms were nice and clean but could do with a fresh coat of paint, however rooms were nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly. Great breakfast

Staff are helpful and accommodating. My wife's gluten-free diet means it is sometimes awkward to get meals in some places. They sorted it out for us.

A must-see. We have stayed here 5 times or more for drinks and food since the lock-down. Friendly and polite staff. Besides that, the cuisine available here is also excellent and freshly cooked to your liking.

Somewhere to put your head down … clean, warm, cheap. Breakfast was available at the Beefeaters across the road (completely unrelated business) … went to Greggs.

Room was clean. Property is looking tired and in need of a face lift. No hot water from shower. No door on en suite bathroom. Managed for one night. Staff friendly. Breakfast was good. Seating covering in dining area worn and torn and health/infection risk for cleaning.

Washbasin broken/unusable. No toiletries. Also, Very loud music until 1am when I got dressed and went downstairs to complain. Partial refund promised next day but despite numerous phone calls to manager it was not received until over a month later, after I had spoken to Expedia (who were very helpful - thanks) about the delay.

My stay for a couple of nights on a local course found the room basic but serviceable. However, certain aspects stood out. The mattress had significantly lost its spring, providing a rather firm sleeping surface. The room door's lock rattled noticeably with any breeze, showing clear signs of prior damage or attempted entry. Furthermore, ventilation was an issue; leaving the window closed resulted in a distinct, stale atmosphere, making an open window essential for comfort.

Booked for 2 nights. Room, fire vesda alarm was hanging off the ceiling above one of the dble beds. Toilet wouldn’t flush properly. One dble bed was broken. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Booked for 3 people, there was only 2 mugs and towels for 2. Managed to get another cup and towel. Used the drink facilities that were in the room on the first morning, but they weren’t replenished, so could make another drink whilst there. On a good point staff Connor was amazing, the chef was very polite and helpful, food was amazing.

I can't comment on service as all I needed was a bed and a shower - I was arriving late and leaving early for all of my three night stay so had no interaction after picking up the room key. The lock on the room door was old-school Yale type, but ill fitting, so had to slam door to close it. Almost broke the key trying to reopen. First night, noise from downstairs bar was distracting. Luckily, subsequent nights were quiet. Dead flies next to kettle. Supplied WiFi password out of date No cold water! Shower door rollers would easily fall out of their rails. On the plus side, I found the bed comfortable enough and the shower itself was fine (once I'd reseated the rollers)

DO NOT STAY HERE!! UNLESS U WANT TO PAY TO BE (TRYING) TO SLEEP ABOVE A TEENAGERS DISCO!! We were told bar closes at 11pm.......the music went on & on , people knocking on other room doors , music would get loud, then low.......then to top our trip, a fight broke out in the bar downstairs, a man knocking on room doors to get the police called, this
