We really enjoyed our stay at the Hope & Anchor. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the food was excellent. There are issues with parking as the village is extremely popular so you may have to park a little way away from the hotel. The Wi-Fi in the hotel kept dropping out. That may be an advantage to some 😉 Overall a fantastic place to unwind with beautiful beaches 2 minutes away.

Checked in to be asked if we’d been told how hot the Curlew room was as it’s above the kitchen, has a large frosted glass window with a tiny window pane to open. Hotels.com does not mention this and neither did any of the 3 emails sent by The Hope & Anchor. After spending an hour in the room when it was 25 degrees outside with 3 fans that just circulated the hot air in the room, I went to reception. I’d checked Hotels.com so knew there were 2 other rooms available so they kindly upgraded us to a much better room with 2 open windows. So glad we were able to do this.

Lovely quaint hotel. Rooms lovely and lovely big bathroom and shower. Ate there Sunday night and food was excellent. Perhaps just a wee bit big portion but managed all the succulent roast beef. Breakfast was also great. Freshly cooked to order. The bacon was the best we have had in a long while. Would stay again if in area. Very peaceful.

Such a warm and friendly welcome, our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean with a beautiful shower room. This is one of the most dog friendly places we have ever stayed, there is even a doggy breakfast menu! The food is absolutely stunning! From the best scrambled eggs ever for breakfast to such amazing evening meals, we ate here both nights of our stay! We will certainly be back soon!
