As locations go, this hotel is at least ideal for me. Beautiful building just off wimbledon Common, a 1015 minute walk from the village and about 25 minutes walk from wimbledon tennis. The hotel itself is a solid 4 star with an excellent barlounge with a welcoming fire in winter and a very decent Italian restaurant. Our initial room was great, but by early evening it had two noise issues. One was the fan exhaust from kitchens which in itself wasnt a major problem, but the staff kitchen noise was constant and loud. After our initial room was a little small, the manager graciously placed us in the oak room. Although certainly okey, the main criteria was complete silence, and we had two good nights. Well, except for feuding kitchen staff were unquestionably excellent. The restaurant was also enjoyed by us both nights, and dietary issues could easily be accommodated. The ubiquitous piped jazz muzzak is my one minor complaint. I love jazz as much when it is inflicted loudly in a social setting, it really grates. As a runner, the neighborhood is ideal, with Wimbledon Common right outside and Richmond Park also close by. Village has plenty of options if you dont fancy eating at the hotel. Highly advised. Make sure you do not get that room above the kitchen. Cant recall the name.

We have stayed previously and have always enjoyed coming back. The service was friendly and willing. The deluxe double room was very comfortable, but it would have benefitted from some brighter lighting. The decor is a bit sombre, but the photos give a fair impression. Breakfast was always good, with a mix of buffet and cooked items to order and the genial subhendu in charge of the service on several of the days. Christmas Eve dinner was a bit disappointing with some menu items not available and service a bit too leisurely not helped by a noisy table nearby. Christmas Day lunch was rebooted, the only drawback was that they seemed to have tried to squeeze in two sitting without following any sort of schedule. The result was that we had to wait almost 2 hours before being seated! Not surprisingly, guests were getting agitated and it should have been better. All was fine after that, thankfully, and despite the fact that we had to order our options in advance of our stay, everything was correctly arranged. Dinner on Boxing Day was even better, so our overall experience at the restaurant grew as we stayed. Car parking was convenient and plentiful, as it should have been for 12 per night. Overall positive, and we would return.

Overall great service from start to finish, thank you. We love the room decor, the breakfast is fresh and generous and the location is good, and the parking is not an issue because the car is kept well. Definitely, we will come back!.
