About Poppies Hotel and Restaurant
This hotel, situated a mere four minutes from Callander—the self-proclaimed capital of the Trossachs and gateway to the Highlands—offers guests a charming retreat. The town center, brimming with shops, restaurants, and bars, is a short 300-meter stroll away, as is the nearest bus stop. For those arriving by train, the closest station is a convenient 20-minute drive. Built in 1874 and renovated in 2005, this two-story, family-friendly hotel features nine rooms, including two suites. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Callander Crags, the hotel offers a 24-hour reception, safe, and cloakroom. Guests can enjoy a cozy bar, breakfast room, Wi-Fi access, and an upscale restaurant. Room and laundry services are also available. For added convenience, bicycle storage and parking are provided. Each room includes an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, a direct-dial telephone, TV, internet access, ironing facilities, and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests can relax in comfort with double or king-size beds, central heating, and carpeting. The Trossachs region, where the Highlands meet the Lowlands, is renowned for its shimmering lochs and rocky mountain peaks. Here, birds of prey soar above roaming deer, and visitors can explore the stunning Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park—Scotland's only national park. Callander is also home to an acclaimed 18-hole golf course. Fishing permits are available for the Teith and Ley rivers, and loch fishing is also a popular pastime. A wide network of cycling paths crisscrosses the region, offering ample opportunities for exploration.
