Overall a good stay and somewhere I would gladly suggest staying in if I were in the area. While some of the aspects of the stay revealed the age of the hotel element of this pub, the staff team made the stay great. They were all polite and clearly want to make the guest experience as good as it can be given that they obviously have had some challenging times. The hotel room was clean, with a good double bed that was comfortable, and the bathroom had an amazing shower that was powerful even when other people were using their showers at the same time. Breakfast was good, although personally at 9. 95 a bit pricey for a cooked breakfast, cereal, and toast with instant coffee or tea. I must say that the cooked breakfast was well combined with 2 bacon, 2 chipolata sausages, mushrooms, tomato, hashbrown, and beans. Some more positive things are that the location is dated, some of the decor peeling in the common areas and showing a little damage, and the bar prices are on the lower side of the margin. I had some great conversations with the pub's landlord who was a real gentleman throughout my stay. He is clearly here to make the guest experience as best it can be and establish itself as a community pub.

The food here was so delicious, especially with the atmosphere and staff who were very helpful and kind. And then, the housekeeper's new housekeeper named Carolanne made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. After that, we got a delicious sunday roast and all the trimmings.
