I originally booked my stay at the Rising Sun Inn because I was in the area to see Van Morrison. What I didn't expect was how much I'd enjoy everything else the hotel has to offer. The inn was comfortable, welcoming, and a great base for exploring the beautiful countryside. One of the highlights of my trip turned out to be the wonderful hiking opportunities right around the hotel. The trails and scenery were a pleasant surprise and gave me a chance to slow down and enjoy the area beyond the concert itself. And the pub and beer garden overlooking the Cotswolds were relaxing. If you're a music fan coming for a show, or simply someone who enjoys walking and exploring nature, I can highly recommend the Rising Sun Inn. I arrived for Van Morrison, but I stayed for the hiking and the friendly staff of this family-run hotel. p.s. thanks for the late check-in after the concert. Sorry to make you come over from the house to the hotel.

Had a fab stay - staff friendly at check in and the room was excellent. We stayed in 21 which had a four poster bed and plenty of space - it was wonderfully traditional and added to the stay perfectly. There is plenty of parking at the hotel and breakfast was good value with lots of choice. We stayed for the racing and it was an ideal location - would definitely recommend and stay again.

We had a fantastic stay at the rising sun, staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location with a stunning view, great amenities in the room and the option of the pub and restaurant downstairs! Would highly recommend.

Key essentials are very good - hot strong shower, comfortable beds. Room decor is in need of some attention, but it is big site and understandably difficult to keep on top of. Not really an issue. Front facing rooms have great views, but road traffic can start early. Otherwise was very quiet. Would recommend.

Only negative I would add is just a few areas like some doors or frames need a lick of paint, otherwise defo stay again We stayed here to go to RIAT airshow next day and after visiting Clarkson’s Farm where we met him also

Friendly reception, stunning location, left a bag of room clean items outside my door as I was do not disturb. Small things go along way. Only suggestion Citronella candles for the garden the wasps are very annoying...

Great views from the bar and garden, and perhaps some rooms though not ours as we were facing out the back. Rooms are clean and functional but nothing to write home about, with bathrooms not dissimilar to the toilets in a school 20 years ago. Nevertheless, a good night's rest and great location if you're playing golf and the nearby Cleeve Hill golf course.

We were pleasantly surprised at the Beautiful views. The dinner was good, and the lady that checked us into the hotel was very helpful. Yes it's an older building, but the rooms were clean. The room we were in did not have AC, but there was a fan. We were there in May so it wasn't real warm, so just be aware of that, if you are there in summer.
