The pub inside is ok and serves both locals and residents. My room was great, clean, tidy, and well-appointed. Food, dinner, and breakfast were delicious, especially dinner. The staff was very friendly and happy to chat.

What a surprise this bar was. The exterior completely obscures what the inside is like. We stayed one night and were greeted by Chris who was extremely friendly and welcoming. The inside is a true pub! It has a wide variety of drinks and the food was excellent, with large portions of everything. The bedrooms were lovely, spacious clean and all the amenities you could ask for at a very reasonable price. Chris and andy went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed with great friendliness. It's the village's local pub, and the locals at the pub were equally friendly. The breakfast, which is a little extra cost, was incredible and had everything you could ask for. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night because of our schedule, but the next time, there will be another, we will stay a little longer. Congratulations to Chris, and Andy and the entire staff. Thank you very much.

We had never before visited Helensburgh, so we made a last-minute getaway after reading the excellent reviews. We were forced to park out of the way when we got there because nowhere close unless you used the bus stop, which is not ideal for disabled people because my husband is, and Jack showed us to our room at the back of the pub. It appeared to be an old converted home with three rooms upstairs and one below us in first glances. The room itself needs to be painted a bit, though, up the stairs with the decoration beautifully and the room itself was tidy. The bedding was extremely soft I even ordered a set of sheets. The toilet was spotless, except for the towel rail, which I think they must neglect being dusting it, and the bed was so comfy. There were no one to consume the dinner because it was charcoal, the peppercorn sauce was so mediocre and weak. I made an espresso cake for my husband's birthday party, and I had mint chocolate mousse. It was a very pleasant dessert. We both requested delicious steak, which was the only one we ever wanted because the bartender had informed us that it was in a continental manner and he offered cereals, yogurts, fruits, and a complete breakfast, so 9 rp seemed reasonable. We went for lunch in this pub on Sunday. It was very quiet so we were the only ones eating, which may have been an issue. However, the staff was friendly and the food was good. Nice interior, don't be let down by the outside.

A fantastic place to stay, very helpful and friendly staff, good food on site, good fried breakfast, clean and well equipped room, very happy with it, few shops and a cafe in the area.
