The Bold is a lovely Hotel, very popular with non residents to, day and night, inside and out It’s on an excellent location, near to all amenities Some car parking spaces round the back but you can pay for a space, with a discount at their sister hotel The Grand across the road if it’s full All the Bar, Restaurant and reception staff were very warm and welcoming. The room was cosy, the bed comfy, the bathroom spacious, all with good facilities Breakfast was a very nice hot buffet, drinks machine and a cold selection with a toast machine The only draw back we found was that there was some road and revellers noise into the night that a bit of internal double glazing would have fixed and a lift to the bedrooms would be good It was good value for money We would definitely recommend staying there

Bright and clean throughout hotel, nice bedroom. Staff all very pleasant from reception signing in to breakfast staff to bar staff. Plentiful breakfast. Nice atmosphere about the place. Location ideal northern district. Highly recommend; will stay again.

Helpful and courteous staff, including Reception (thank you Howard and Claudia, and also the young man who sorted my extra day seamlessly on 12 Feb for 13 Feb). Breakfast plentiful with enough choice (although I must say I didn't like the coffee or tea from the machine – prefer freshly made with hotter water). Steak and chips fine and good value. Central location and near bus stops and three good restaurants. Room clean, and the windows can be opened, for those, like me, who wants a bit of air.
