Great little place to stay with a super comfortable bed. Nice size room with good amenities and a nice little balcony for an evening drink. Or there's a nice pub with good food just downstairs. If you're a light sleeper, the room we were in isn't the best option though as the door to the pub is right below the bed. But we slept great regardless. Definitely worth the money for a nice convenient stay.

Stayed at the Capon while attending a wedding nearby. Requested an early check in to get changed and drop bags which the hotel happily accommodated. Room was fantastic with a very comfy bed, fridge and was lucky enough to get the room with a small balcony which was perfect to have the continental breakfast which was placed in the fridge while out. Short walk to the town square and a little further is the magnificent Abbey ruins and castle jail if you have time. The young lady who'd checked us in early was very friendly and accommodating

We had a wonderful stay here. The hotel was in a convenient location, close to a few bars and eateries on the main street, and with free street parking. The bathrooms, bedroom, and public areas are all well furnished to a very high standard, and the cleanliness was excellent. The breakfast, which the booking agents website describes as fantastic, was, despite its description, only contained a box. We had anticipated a full cooked breakfast, not a cold snack perched on the corner of our bed, as there was no information at the time of the booking process. Other minor complaints were that the free wifi could not reach the bedroom and our room's door was only functional but was coming off its hinges and falling out of the way.

The food in the restaurant was delicious, and it was cosy. The menu offers a variety of interesting flavors, making it interesting to sample a few new recipes. Breakfast hampers have a variety of cereals, fruit, muffins, and croissants, although we're not sure if one of the jams supplied has not been partially used yet. In the fridge outside the room, there is fresh milk and yogurt. In the back of the hotel, there is free and secured street parking.

We stayed overnight at Capon Tree, as we traveled further south on our way to Scotland. I was underwhelmed by how someone had taken so much effort and thought of how to construct a lovely town house. The lovely shower in our bedroom, which had a chic design but was also practical, was comfortable. Our dinner was also booked, I suppose in a farming area, you normally expect large portions. My husband's venison was delightful and delicious, and my rack of lamb was delicate and beautifully prepared, but they were too much for us and we were unable to squeeze in dessert. It was smooth and of the right weight for us when I started the outstanding Italian wine. I should also point out how attentive service and value are. I wish you every success because of the effort that has been made.

Overall, a wonderful meal thank you Ashley and Alistair. This restaurant is an unexpected discovery here in Border County. We shared the scallop starter, which was wonderfully presented on a black pudding and pea base. Our main courses were also beautiful venison and salmon, and we finally ended our meal with the cheesecake with white chocolate ginger and the salted caramel tart, both excellent. The service was excellent, and the social distance between the tables was well managed.

On Saturday evening during Valentines weekend, my partner and I stayed at this beautiful hotel and we will be back soon. Our room on the first floor faced the green, had a balcony, chairs, and a table, and was parked conveniently outside the front door. Sadly, the wet weather prevented us from using it because the bar had a fantastic selection of gins and whiskies. The staff served a wonderful dinner, and the breakfast was equally tasty, fresh ingredients, and delicious. Vegetarian needs were well met for my partners. The hotel was immaculately clean, the personnel was really helpful, and we spent some time chatting with alistair and his wife ashley after a great meal, both of which were gregarious and happy hosts, which I believe deserve success.
