The evening receptionist was lovely, friendly and very helpful. The bed was comfortable, the en suite was clean, there was a portable heater when it got a little cold at night. On the first night of my stay the single room I was given did not have a kettle so the receptionist changed it for a room with a kettle at no extra charge to me.

Great staff and room was cosy with a large bathing area. Nice sized parking area jusf behind, although that's relatively dependent on how "decently " others chhose to park. The bedroom door had an adequate lock, the door itself felt "flimsy"... so even though the bed was really comforrable, i didn't sleep like so well asdoor lets sijnd in too wasily bre

We felt that the hotel offered very good value for money for a short few hour stay on route to our destination. It is true to say the hotel was full of charcter and one could easily imagine how beautiful it was in its heyday.... however time has clearly taken its toll. It seemed to have a variety of characters staying there..... Certainly one may feel vulnerable in the sirrounding area.... but the car park was close and included in the cost of the room. We have no complaints whatsoever. EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY

Definetly didn’t look as good as the pics. Took 20 minutes to run a bath. Had to keep the window open as it was boiling in the hotel. Where ever you moved you had creaking floorboards. Worst mattress we’ve ever slept on. No support whatsoever. Walls looked like either discovered or damp patches. No toiletries for bathroom except toilet roll. Regular clientele of the hotel look like it’s gets used as a doss house. Folk near the entrance drinking alcohol and smoking certain substances. Won’t be returning. Paid less for decent hotels with no problems and all the extras.

I understood the price once I arrived. We passed people that looked suspicious of drug using in the halls many times. The bed was horrible. I woke up aching. Grateful for the free parking though. I’m sure in its day it was a great place. It’s very run down now

The accommodation stayed in was not as advertised, we hoped it would have been a place that was suitable for a night, but it just created worry and discomfort the entire time staying there. The first room we were presented with was not at all as expected, the walls were stained with marks and water stains. The bathroom was dirty and unacceptable. The bed covers and curtains were stained and window sill covered in mould. Having asthma I was not comfortable staying in this room. I rang to reception and requested another room and told them it wasn’t at all how it was advertised, which the receptionist didn’t understand why. They provided us with a second room which was larger and slightly better than the first but still not good enough. Stained walls, mouldy curtains and window cills. However due to being exhausted from travels, we decided to just try and sleep for the long day ahead the next day. Both myself and partner were unable to get any sleep as the bed was terribly uncomfortable, we could feel the spring badly through the mattress. I have attached some images for you to see for yourself. This is completely unacceptable even with it being a cheap stay. The images need reviewing and updated on your site as the public should know what their money is buying them. We complained to hotels.com and they were very unhelpful. The hotel told them it was all fine so wouldn’t help us. Not impressed. Do not say here or book through hotels.com. Not even worth it for a night.

Do not stay here! The pictures are not anything like the actual hotel, it’s very outdated and looks dirty. The carpets are filthy and the bedrooms are quite frankly disgusting! The bathrooms hadn’t been cleaned, hairs in the bath and even the toilet hadn’t been flushed. And a very disgusting wet mark on the floor that looked like urine. One room had the curtains nearly hanging off (a family room!) mismatched, wall paper peeling and stains on sheets. The pillows were nearly flat and the duvets so thin. The ceiling in one of our two rooms had the paint peeling and yellow marks from a bad leak and there was black mould in both rooms. If it wasn’t for the fact we had one night booked and arrived at 10pm i would have found us somewhere else to stay. Embarrassing to call this a hotel, I’ve seen cleaner crack dens in movies!!

This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The place looks neglected from the moment you arrive, the parking area was full of rubbish and broken items and generally felt unsafe. Inside things didn't improve. The room had clearly not been properly cleaned or updated in years. the ventilation fan was covered in dust and grime, and the walls had marks and stains all over them. Everything felt worn out and it generally made the room feel unhygienic and uncomfortable to stay in. I definitely would not recommend staying here unless you have no other choice. we booked for two nights and left after one.

How this hotel is even allowed on this website is beyond me. The staff even said 'this isn't a nice place to stay' when I arrived, the condition of the room was disgusting, there was faeces in the toilet, toilet roll stuck to the ahoer chrtain, thick dust and splats and marks on every wall and surface. Safe to say i did mot complete my stay there, when I say stay away I mean STAY AWAY.

The shower was full of mold, the room stank of mold, the kettle was broken, the heater was hanging off the wall, the light above the sink was in bits, we didn’t feel safe.

I received a cancellation email 2 days prior our arrival due to a fire in the hotel. I called the hotel to validate. So we were obviously disappointed and had to look for an alternative for accommodation. I hope I get reimbursed.

Cancelled room on day hours before check in and left me and family stranded with no place to sleep for the night. Staff didn’t care and said not their problem.

I wouldn’t even let my dog stay there….and he’s dead….we didn’t even bring in our luggage and left after half an hour and that was after asking for another room as I tripped in the bathroom on the torn Lino..the second room was as bad and had a moat going around the edges of the bath, after tripping in the first room and using a walking stick I wasn’t risking it….the goings on we saw out the back was a no for me too, looked like it was being used as a hostel and should no way be being advertised on Expedia especially as the pictures they’ve deliberately chose to use do not truthfully reflect the current state of the property and rooms ..they can’t even justify it cos of the price cos we found a lovely place to stay a mile away for cheaper and was lovely clean, modern and safe…the lock on the door of one room they gave us at the crown was literary hanging off..I’m really disappointed at Expedia for listing this property and angry they had the nerve to send it to me as a recommendation

They say you get what you pay for and that was very true. I booked this hotel by mistake and because it was non refundable i decided to stay there anyway. Furniture grubby, carpet dirty and stained, curtains hanging off, towels stained. I was afraid to look at the mattress so slept on top and i definitely wasnt showering to use the towels. I was shocked to hear that the whole of the second floor was being used for temporary accommodation. The receptionist on duty was lovely and very helpful.
