Staff were very friendly and helpful. For an old hotel, the rooms were quirky. They were redecorating and improving parts. Breakfast was to a good standard and the staff efficient an friendly. Very satisfied

Had a brilliant 3 night stay,room was clean and nicely decorated sea front view , staff were very friendly and welcoming couldnt of asked for a better stay decor does need an upgrade in parts of hotel

Got a late deal which was a bargain during summer holidays. Didnt expect much but had the most amazing time. Lets address the negative first. The rooms and decor of the hotel. It needs updating for definite but honestly you dont go away to look at the decor. As a younger couple staying in the hotel we were after a clean room and basic facilities so you could imagine our delight when we found out they had an on site bar located downstairs with entertainment. ( entertainment is aimed at the older generation but if you have a good sense of humour and join in you will be fine). We danced the night away and had the most amazing time. ALL the staff were amazing start to finish. Professional and friendly. You could have a good chinwag about paignton where to go and advice on what to do. Staff really made our nights stay! Cookie needs a pay rise! Breakfast is amazing but if you think im paying £15 per person again then you are very much mistaken. Yes its good quality produce, yes it is all you can eat, but this hotel's demographic is currently coffin dodgers and so they eat very little. So a less pricey breakfast would probably go down better. Myself and Jody had the most wonderful night in this hotel. We made memories we never thought we would of that night. We spent 95% of our time in the hotel and we are going to come back every month for our stay. The staff need to be appreciated more and the big bosses need to listen to them. This hotel could be amazing.

The hotel looked a bit shabby outside but staff and inside was good. The room was clean but very hot. The small air blower was useless and noisy. And the people next door keot slamming the door.

Not the most friendly of reception staff, when i arrived they wanted mo to pay on arrival?, i had allready paid Hotels.com so spent over a hour trying to sort that mess out only for reception staff to say i might have to pay twice!!. Phoned hotels.com and they kindly sorted the Hotel mix up out. The reception and the restaurant and the bar area is a lovely modern taste but unfortunately thats where it ends. I can only review our room as obviously not seen other's but our room is so outdated, the paint is flacking off the walls the bedroom celling looked like it was going to collapse at any time, the windows had all blown restricting viewing, the shower was extremely poor plenty of hot wster just not enough of it. The bed was comfy no complaints there. Woukd ivstsy here again? Yes i would but it would have to be at a good price.

Perfect location right on the sea front near to all the shops etc. The room we had was unfortunately very dated in need of re-vamping and the corridor leading to it had a damp smell.The bed was comfortable and we had 2 windows which were great during the heatwave.We had tea and coffee naking facilities in the room but the tray was not replenished every day .Towels were provided and replaced daily which was nice.The shower was grim and not suitable should an elderly couple stay in this particular room due to the height of the base.I would stay here again as i know the hotel is in the process of upgrading the rooms and for us it was just a base at night due to being an active couple out all day.
