It comes highly recommended. We were contacted for a drink on a Sunday while on vacation. We chose to stay for lunch because of the excellent staff. I'm so happy we did because the food was excellent, well-cooked, and lots of it, including the wonderful cauliflower cheese. Drinks were also excellent, including wonderful wine and good ales. The restrooms and bar areas were very clean and tidy. Eddy loves it because he's a dog. Very good value for money. The staff was wonderful and went above and beyond for us. I hope sandwich appreciates this hidden treasure.

If you enjoy sleeping above a rowdy pub that plays late-night music that can shake your bed, this is the place for you. Seriously though, the location is good, and the staff is very friendly. I may have just been a little unlucky on this occasion, but the bathroom was clearly in need of repair and the late-night entertainment was a big red flag if you were not expecting it or wanted to join the party. Fair enough, the owners do mention that music may be played in the room description, but ignore to mention that bedrooms are located directly above, so if the noise levels are strong and there is disturbance to go beyond 11 p.m., be properly advised.

We enjoyed both an evening meal and a lunch at this pub. In the evening, we had dinner steak and nachos as well as sandwiches for lunch. We got good service and an affordable price. The steaks we ordered were braised medium-rare and med-tender, but because they looked like my partner and I could consume them like that, so we chose to keep them rather than return them.

We called the hotel on short notice and the four of us were able to get a seat. The pub and restaurant were quiet so we were a little apprehensive when we first arrived. How wrong were we! The staff were excellent and even sat us down early. We had starters calamari and chicken wings which were delicious. After that, we all had a roast dinner with 2 beef topside and pork loin with crackling and nut flour. The plates were full and so were we! The food was simply beautiful! I will definitely be back.

We didn't stay at the hotel and stayed at the pub twice during our vacation, once for drinks and once for food. Both times the staff were very nice, they let us charge our phones and even leave our cases with them while we looked around town. The food is also good, we had two all-day breakfasts, cheese and tomato grilled sandwich and sweet potato fries, all of which were good and generous in portions. Lovely location and spacious and clean inside. Highly recommended.
