Lovely little hotel located 25 Minutes walk from Newcastle City Centre. Jesmond has lots of bars, restaurants and a small Waitrose on the same street as the hotel. Free parking, bus stop immediately outside and Uber so getting about is very easy. The room was nicely decorated, very clean, had a really comfortable bed and everything we needed. Very relaxed atmosphere and everyone was very helpful and extremely polite. Breakfast was great, tea coffe juices, cerial, yoghurts, toast and cooked options available. Had a lovely 2 night stay and would certainly recommend to anyone wanting a quieter location than the City. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We went to Newcastle to see old friends and also take in the wonderful SUNDAY FOR SAMMY show, and the Kenilworth provided an ideal setting in view of its proximity to both the town centre (a leisurely 25 minute stroll) and the magnificent Jesmond Dene “Park”. It was a 5-6 hour train ride for us and, unfortunately,we didn’t allow ourselves enough time to really have a good look at Newcastle, which, from past memories,is a marvellous city, full of wonderful people. The Staff at the Kenilworth could not have been more helpful or accommodating — nothing was too much trouble — and they made our short stay an extremely pleasant one. Will definitely stop there again next time we’re up that way.

The hotel was a small independent one. Ideal for the Great North Run - just 10 minute walk to the start and plenty of restaurants and places to eat in the area. We particularly like an Italian called Franchesca .The breakfast was cooked fresh and very good. They even put on a special runners breakfast the day of the Great North. I would imagine once the Students start back at uni it could be a fairly loud lively area. The shower was my only criticism of the hotel....it barely trickled out and probably in need of a new one. Staff were great and very helpful.

We stayed here as it was close to the wedding venue we were attending and didn’t seem too expensive. Easy to find and park park at. Check in was easy and the room was spacious and I was grateful for the kettle and teabags/milk and use of hairdryer and ironing board. The downside was the bars downstairs. We were at the front of the building right above the hotel bar and both Friday and Saturday night I struggled to sleep til the partygoers left at midnight. I had the windows shut and the blinds and curtains closed to try drown out the sound but to no avail. I am a light sleeper though. My partner sleeps through anything so he was fine. That was until some guests returned back at 1am Saturday night screaming like idiots at each other. They woke us both up and should learn some respect. The area was great in the day time though. Local amenities, a lovely park and an easy walk or tube to the town centre.

Honest realistic review. 2 adults, 1 child, 1 large dog Loved the fact that the hotel was dog friendly. Other dogs were their too and it was fine, you didn't hear them. The rooms were quite spacious, en suite was small and very little power in the shower. The room did what we needed it to. It was clean and looked recently decorated. Our room was above the bar (room 4) and was on the main road. We didn't really hear any noise and the bar didn't bother us, they were even kind enough to lend us some wine glasses. The tv had basic freeview and a hairdryer was also in the room. The parking. Pretty poor and the guy on reception was just plain awkward with telling people where to park. As we pulled up, he tried to open our door to ask us to park in a different space. Then once parked up he asked us to move again. The spaces are extremely tight and despite us saying we had a child to get out of a car seat he still insisted we get closer to another car. Also very obvious they prefer certain cars in certain spaces. And after speaking to other guests we found that they were treated too. He would repeatedly speak over us and not listen, even telling me that the caledonian has less spaces (who cares, i wasn't staying there!). This happened each time we came to park up, even asking us to move just one or two inches closer to a van (saying that he knows that the contractors that stay in there that have transit vans might clip the parked cars). Overall, good hotel, parking is poor.

Enjoyed a clean, spacious, comfortable room, rear facing so away from any traffic noise. Large, fully-opening window a bonus in hot weather. Located close to the town centre so plenty shops, bars and restaurants plus 2 Metro stations within an easy, level walk.

Good sized room, free parking but as with all hotels on Osbourne Road a tad noisy with the windows open. But the noise does eventually stop also the air con unit outside the window was noisy. Service was lovely really welcoming. Price was very reasonable and the location is great

Room was large and plenty of room, apart from the bed - was ok if on 1 side or the other but was 2 single mattresses to make up a double bed and could be felt if I lay in the middle !! Spacious shower. Clean and tidy. Evening food I ordered was excellent, breakfast was different to the menu in the room but ok. Only down side was the stairs to take my dog out as it was the only choice for 1st thing in the morning as the door to the main hotel was locked and emergency stairs was the only exit. I have difficulty with stairs and there is no lift. Very helpful, friendly staff. Good car parking. An enjoyable stay.
