We had a wonderful time at the Notley Arms from a friendly welcome, high quality rooms and a very good evening meal. The staff were very friendly and accommodating regarding an elderly relative who wanted a meal in her room. Our meal was high quality restaurant standard with a good wine list. Monksilver is a picturesque Somerset village with good walking and access to the coast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place and we will certainly return.

Lovely room, generally very quiet, but it is a farming area, so there is early morning traffic. Otherwise, a great place to spend a night. I have sampled many breakfasts in my time and this definitely rates amongst the top few. Evening meal also very good, sensibly priced and home cooked.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Notley. We arrived early and were warmly welcomed by the owner, who showed us to our room in the annexe, which was clean, quiet and comfortable. The pub is well decorated; there's a great choice of drinks and the food is excellent (we had breakfast and dinner each day) - everything we tried was very tasty. The whole place is dog-friendly, relaxed and informal, which we appreciated, and it's a great location for exploring Exmoor / South Somerset / North Devon. Would not hesitate to recommend and we will stay again if we are in the area.

Had a three day break at the Notley Arms Inn with two elderly relations. We all said how fantastic the place was. The staff were extremely helpful. The owners, Simon and Caroline were so welcoming and very friendly. The rooms were very nicely decorated and extremely clean. Our travelling companions are a bit fussy, not happy trying unknown dishes, but they were catered for without any fuss. The food was beautifully prepared and really tasty. The Scotch Eggs were to die for. The wifi was poor in our room, three foot thick walls, but this did not concern me, in fact it was a nice break. Wifi fine in the pub and outside room, so could do with a bench or two for this reason. Overall, I nor my companions could fault the place in any way. No doubt we will return.
