The Old Bakehouse was a lovely homely place to stay, and the village of Colyton is in a pretty and convenient location to visit several attractions in the area, go to the beach, cycle or hike. Fiona and Steve were excellent, very helpful, and hospitable hosts. Whilst eating our delicious breakfast each morning we were entertained with music from Steve's extensive vinyl collection, which was a really good start to each day. Our room was clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed, and all we needed for relaxing after a day's sightseeing. Parking wasn't a problem as they register your car to park for free in the local car park which is about 50yds away. There are several good places to eat in the village, not least the Kingfisher pub, and a couple of convenience stores. We honestly can't recommend you stay there enough.

The old bakehouse is a beautiful house set in the heart of a quaint town with a village feel. Room was clean and spacious with a large bed. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, produce used was first class. Colyton is ideally situated to take a ride on he lovely old trams to Seaton.

We liked everything. Fiona and Steve are delightful and friendly hosts. This old building is full of character and is beautifully decorated. Our en-suite room had a very comfortable bed and lovely views of the village. Their breakfasts were amazing which a five star hotel would have trouble matching. On-street parking was readily available in a nearby residential road during our stay. We were happy to leave our car there. If we are back again in this part of Devon/Dorset we wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else.

This was definitely the best accomodation we had during our two week trip of the UK. Fiona and Steve were very welcoming hosts. The historic house is cozy, as is the guest lounge and breakfast room. The lounge is equipped with a quality stereo system, a record player and a large and truly excellent selection of LPs. You can select your breakfest and your music of choice in the evening. Breakfast was very good, too. Our hosts also offered very helpful tips on where to go for dinner or sightseeing. The room was sufficiently large, and beds were good. The bathroom was large, too, although the toilet was a bit cramped between the bulging bathtub/shower installation and the sink. We remember our stay fondly and would gladly return should we travel to that corner of England again. Thank you!

A Delightful Stay at The Old Bake House in Colyton! Our recent stay at Steve and Fiona's charming B&B, The Old Bake House in Colyton, was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. It truly felt like a home away from home, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The comfort of our room was exceptional, particularly the linen which was noticeably crisp and fresh – a true luxury! Each morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast that was not only incredibly tasty but also beautifully presented, with fine attention to detail which added a lovely touch to the meal. A highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the 'lounge' in the b&b. It added such a unique and fun element to our stay, allowing us to relax and enjoy Steve's incredible record collection. It was a fantastic way to unwind after a day of exploring. Convenience was also a plus, with easy parking available. We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed evening at the pub just across the road, which was the perfect spot to unwind after our daytime adventures. And for a truly local treat, the cream tea down the road from the B&B was an absolute delight! Steve and Fiona have created a truly special place at The Old Bake House, and we can't recommend it highly enough. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
