limited parking at the property on arrival, staff are super friendly and super informative about our stay, helped to get settled into our rooms with an introduction to our room. The room was clean and tidy and plenty of complementary beverages for the room. We had a wonderful stay at the hotel and felt relaxed and comfortable throughout our stay!

Great communication from The Queens ahead of arrival. There was some local flooding on the day of our arrival and they called to let us know where best to park and how to avoid closed roads. So helpful!

A beautiful small hotel in a typical old English village. The staff were very helpful and friendly. A short drive to Bristol airport. We would definitely stay again if we are in that area.

What a little gem this place is. Chew Magna is stunning and The Queens is a great place to stay. Room was lovely and well decorated. Everything was clean too. Staff were welcoming, chatty, friendly and we wished we were able to eat there but we’d already got dinner plans elsewhere or we’d have happily just settled in for the evening. The locals were lovely too and got chatting to a few of them whilst we had a drink and enjoyed the sunshine. Would definitely recommend and we will head back one day and stay overnight and dine there.

Nicely decorated room, good location in Chew Magna. The breakfast was a selection of cold items to be eaten in the room.

The room was comfortable and inviting, and it was also quiet. We loved it, however, it was rather disappointing that the pub restaurant wasn’t open on a Sunday evening and also doesn’t open for breakfast. The staff were so lovely in explaining the there was coffee and cereal in our room but it wasn’t really what we want so we walked to another place nearby. Other than that, it was great.

Charmerende pub med fint værelse. Ret stort og med et pænt og stort badeværelse. Hyggelig stemning, og ret stille om natten. Alt det man forventer af et værelse i en lille hyggelig engelsk by

Bearing in mind that this pub prides itself on its restaurant meals, there is no provision for a cooked breakfast. You only get to know that the breakfast is what they call 'continental' after you have booked. This comprises tea, coffee, fruit juice, yoghurt, flapjack, milk and small boxed cereal. One of our cereal boxes had an expired BBD, so we left it out so that the staff could see it when we were out (there wasn't anyone around to mention this to) but it had been put back in the cupboard there for us the next day, along with a second box! The day we arrived (Friday) there appears to have been a special event at The Queens. This meant that music was blaring out until nearly 1am and noisy customers at the front of the pub which we could hear even though the windows were closed. Needless to say we weren't told about this when we booked either, or even had it mentioned when we checked in, although to be fair the pub was very busy and the staff probably had other things on their minds. There is no dedicated check-in desk so we had to wait until one of the bar staff was available to give us our key and show us to the room, which was very comfortable and clean. Parking is on a first come, first served basis and given the event on the Friday evening, we had to park some way from the pub in the village as it was so busy.

Nice room in a traditional pub, but it didn’t have space for a chair or even a luggage rack. You have to put your luggage on the bed to unpack and then sit on the bed to drink tea and eat the continental breakfast. The shower was good with lots of hot water. The bed and pillows weren’t great. The noise from the pub is very noticeable, keeping us awake until 1:45 am on a Friday night. This was mostly attributable to the courtyard where smokers gather and talk loudly. That area is directly under the window of room 2. Otherwise it’s quiet. Parking is limited but free. Food in the pub was really good and there’s a good selection of beer and cider.

Staff very friendly. Breakfast was a disappointment, only advised it was a cold breakfast after placing the booking!
