I never sleep well on the first night away in a hotel, but I slept like a baby here. I found everything to be clean, well laid out and comfortable. The owners were warm and amiable when I arrived, and I really appreciated the laid back approach to breakfast and check-out. If I'm ever in the area again I'll be sure to look them back up.

Very welcoming on arrival. Room was lovely. great selection for breakfast (not a cooked breakfast). Nowhere to eat on site but a lovely pub locally was recommended by the bar staff.

Business trip and just found this place, I stayed here in the large room and it was fantastic! Really lovely homely feel, very spacious room, great self service selection at breakfast and the young lady behind the bar was extremely welcoming and helpful. What a great find this place was - will definitely return!

Fabulous hotel & stay. The staff were excellent and very helpfull. The inclusive continental breakfast was served in a really nice room and had a great choice. I would definitely recommend.

The place was really great some nice touches breakfast was DIY but fridge full of fruit, yogurts, ham, cheeses, actimel drinks fruit juices. There was wht/Brn bread crumpets fruit loaf etc etc etc one of the best breakfast choices. My only gripe was the bathroom a little small but I am on the large side

What a lovely place to stay. I was in room 2 which was absolutely delightful. You walk through the bar area to be shown to your room, it was only last wee I went and so the bar was all decorated for Xmas, it was so homely and lovely. They have a bookcase of dvds you can borrow at the top of the stairs which I took full advantage of. The room was very clean, beautifully appointed and very comfortable. I’m work for a mattress company and therefore a mattress a bit of a bed snob, the bed could have been more comfortable however it is similar to most you find on your travels. There’s was a tray of free snacks which was so welcome after a long day. They had folded my towel into a flower like they do in foreign holiday hotels. Breakfast was extensive,lots of fruit tea choices, and they had giant crumpets. I didn’t have a drink in the bar downstairs as I arrived late but I will definitely be in there next time. They don’t sell food in the bar which is worth knowing before you arrive, I went to the river side in Stockton and had a curry (Vadah) which was excellent. Fantastic stay. I will definitely be back when I’m back up in the area, i can see this becoming a home away for home for me. I haven’t written a review in a very long time as I only tend to do so when somewhere isn’t particularly good or particularly bad.

I travel a lot and I usually stay in a hotel, but this was my best experience so far. It felt so homy, clean and just so beautiful. I loved the treat basket in my room and all the deco details in the bathroom from toilet paper or the towel flower on the bed. It felt like at 4star hotel! Hugely recommend! Great staff and very helpful.
