Made very welcome by staff on what was an incredibly busy Sunday(Bluebird K7 week) Had a podcast overnight and it was proper!! Very cosy,peaceful aaand warm. When it went dark,it went dark! Loved it,had a fabulous sleep. Food was good,beer was cold..will be back

I stayed in one of the cabins and it was so lovely! Clean, cosy and quiet. There is another cabin right next door, and the campervans are just outside, but I didn't notice it at all. A few bits that looked a little neglected, I had to put the shower door seal back on, the bathroom heater had seen better days, and so had the blinds. Check in and check out were simple, and the staff were cheery and happy to help :)

Great base for exploring the Lakes. Pub rooms were good value. Welcoming lively pub/restaurant with good range of options and very generous portions! Plenty of free parking. All in all a great experience.

We had a Wonderful stay in one of the Sheperds huts, brilliant facilties Pub food plentiful and tasty Great place for dogs. Could do with two outdoor chairs as there was only one.

Had a lovely stay here recently, the staff were really great and very friendly, even allowing me to stay in my room later than the official check-out time as I was getting ready for a wedding. The room itself could have been a little cleaner and one of the lamps by the bed didn't work, but overall it was perfectly fine and more than clean enough for rooms above a pub :) The bed was wonderfully comfortable and I had one of the best nights sleep I've had in a while (especially after driving 7 hours to get there!). Breakfast the next morning was included in the price for the night, with a selection of both continental style and cooked options, my full English came out within 15/20 minutes of ordering and I had a proper, cafetière coffee. Very pleased and would definitely stay again if I'm back in the Lakes!

The room was warm, clean and cosy, comfy bed, bath towels a bit small, had a room with mountain view of Dow Crag & Coniston all be it a little restricted, the food was very good in the evening & the breakfast had a great choice and very tasty, staff were very friendly and helpful, it was a very peacful place to stay quiet at night no noise from other rooms will defo stay again it has been one of our better choices

Always nice to stay here staff friendly and food is very good especially the Sunday lunch. The shepherds huts are perfect everything you need for a relaxing break nice touch with the dressing gowns so we can get to and from hot tub. Ideally situated for walking don’t have to use car if you don’t want to.

Another lovely stay in the herdwick apartment, lovely comfortable apartment great for relaxing after a long day out in the mountains. Really well equipped for catering for yourselves or if you dont want to bother you can eat in the pub. Not a major issue but the only thing that i would say is it needs the sign putting back up for parking space as a couple of times when we came back we couldn't park due to customers of pub parked in the space for the apartment.

This was a lovely Romantic Retreat for the weekend. hotel was well equipped and the bedroom included a bath and shower- and a separate toilet. Absolutely fine if your comfortable-but some may feel a little exposed..
