CitizenM hotels implement a unique system — all the rooms are small, efficiently designed “pods” with a king-size bed at one end. The room is no wider than the bed is long. There is a safe under the bed, a cooler under a counter with a sink, one chair and a well-designed shower. Lights, blinds and heat and ac are controlled from an iPad, where preferences for housekeeping can also be registered. I was solo and quite comfortable. Only a couple enjoying the most intimate relation should consider it. The blackout blinds were the most effective I have ever seen and I had no complaints about city or neighbor sound. The Chicago CitizenM has first rate location, off Michigan Ave one block from the river. The sightseeing boats on the River are a ten minute walk. Many excellent restaurants are also within a ten-minute walk. The Chicago CitizenM has a pretty good fitness center, larger I think than typical for the chain. Staff were helpful and courteous.

Very modern hotel with close proximity to everything we wanted to see in Chicago. Room was small but not an inch of space was wasted in the thoughtful layout. Nice comfy bed and big tv. Controlling the lights/blinds via ipad was kind of a pain especially if coming back late at night in the dark. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay, they have a super pleasant staff here and the daily whiteboard questions were so fun!

I had a friend come in from NYC to stay with me in Chicago for Chicago Black Pride July 4th weekend. We had an absolute amazing time. All my friends love celebrating special occasions at this hotel. It was so close to Michigan ave and Millennium Park. Can't get enough of how much I love this hotel.

Did have a leaky air vent (probably because of the ac blasting but went away after a few days, annoying regardless). Staff were very friendly and the lounge was great. Did not have a fridge or if that drawer was supposed to be a fridge it was not cold (I’m sure the staff could’ve helped but it wasn’t a big enough concern for us as we were out all day). Fantastic location. And the gym has almost everything you’d need so I was very pleased with that. Would recommend to those traveling in a couple who are okay being a little snug. The lights in the room can be changed to make it a little more romantic if you’re into that.
