Really cozy little cabins in the woods. Family friendly. So hospitable. They even had kittens. Good base for a nice getaway for canoeing.

We arrived late Friday night for a brief stay at Deer Ridge Resort. Chad and his crew made sure everything was ready for us when we arrived, including turning the living room light on to welcome us in! Beautiful cabin, well-maintained and clean. Quiet night to enjoy the tranquility of January winter night in the beauty of Minneapolis' northwards. We will be back soon!.

My ideal getaway is a staycation at Deerridge because it can be close to town in about 10 minutes while still being close to town. The cabin was lovely and had a great view of the lake. The room was clean and even had the essential kitchenware. There are plenty of trees and lakes nearby. Chad and Rachel were fantastic. I definitely recommend this place.

Deer Ridge Resort is ideally situated on a tranquil but breathtaking garden lake. If you need anything, it's a quick 10 minute drive from Ely's downtown. The Kawishiwi Falls trailhead is literally just across the street and is a lovely, easy hike for anyone to do. Our cabin was perfectly clean and equipped with everything we could have wanted, including a charcoal grill, kitchenette, hot water, clean bathrooms, a nice patio deck, and fire pits with chairs. They even handed me a bottle of champagne as part of a thoughtful gesture when we went out to celebrate my wifes birthday. Taking out a canoe for the day was very simple. They had excellent recommendations for things to do in the area. The cost was also quite reasonable. Overall, I would highly suggest this to any couple looking for a weekend getaway or family looking for some family fun!.

Ive stayed at Deer Ridge Resort several times and will continue to do so. The cabins are spacious, modern, clean, and equipped with a fully equipped kitchen. Beautiful scenery of the garden lake and most importantly, very quiet. This is my go to place to get away from the noise of city life.
