The very best bar - how could a grizzly on the ceiling, a disco ball with hanging handles and a musk ox wearing pearls be a mistake? Super friendly staff that made you feel welcome and a local hangout. Seven lodging rooms upstairs (noisy bar downstairs - earplugs provided!) share 2 clean full bathrooms in the hall. In the heart of this small historic district, where everything is walkable. Best sit down breakfast in town, large portions and made to order. Lots of choices for lunch and dinner, with food trucks and scratch kitchens all around.

Really neat place! There are only a couple rooms, and the bathrooms are shared because the building is really old. Everything was clean and we really enjoyed it. It’s a little busier, and there is a bar directly below that sometimes has live music - so if that’s not your thing, don’t book here. My wife and I loved it!

We enjoyed staying in such a clean, historic hotel. The queen size bed was firm and comfortable. Sharing two available bathrooms with showers was manageable because guests were cooperative. Check the concert schedule before you stay, though! Even with ear plugs provided, sleeping will be difficult when a band is playing downstairs until 1 am or later. But, the bar/dining room will be open for breakfast at 8 am in the morning with coffee!

It's a room above a bar so it comes with all that is expected. And a little pricey considering the shared bathroom. But honestly a great time. If a good old fashioned adventure is what you're after, this is the place to be. Close to everything donwtown. Just be aware, it is what it says on the tin....but the earplugs do help a LOT if you want to sleep before the bar closes.

Fairview Inn is a great place to stay....the people are great, there was an awesome band, rooms were clean, and easy parking. The owner is awesome! We had a blast! I would definitely recommend it!

Fantastic lodging option and very affordable. The rooms are located above a very popular bar that does Karaoke night which is very fun and lively. Everytime I told people in the area I was staying at the Fairview Inn they would always ask me questions about the place because of its rich history. Be aware though that the rooms are quite small and there are shared bathrooms, but with two bathrooms you won’t have to wait long to use them and they’re cleaned every day. I highly recommend the Fairview Inn if you’re okay in a smaller space and just need a room for sleeping while enjoying what Alaska has to offer.

Nå fikk vi overnatte her også etter vårt besøk i en uke oppe i Talkeetna Fishing Lodge hvor vi fikk fisket godt over 300 stk lakser fordelt på fem personer i løpet av en uke. Dette er nostalgi på høyt nivå hvor du får oppleve Talkeetnas første vannklosett. Landsbyen og Fairview gjør at du føler du kommer tilbake 1800-tallet og westerntiden. Her får du en fantastisk opplevelse hvor du føler å komme mange år tilbake i tid. Spesielt vil jeg anbefale å overnatte her fredag til lørdag og være med på livemusikk i baren rett under rommene. Du trenger ikke legge deg før etter 01:00 for da slutter musikken, baren er åpen til siste gjest går hjem. Velger du å legge deg tidlig føles det som bandet står inne på rommet ditt og spiller. Må bare oppleves. God servive fra både innehaver og ansatte i baren, renhold er greit nok ut fra at du må dele bad og WC med alle gjester som bor her. Når det gjelderr komfor så er sengene meget bra, men støy trekker noe ned (men opplevelsen oppveier det). Tilstand erselvfølgelig ikke helt topp da bygget er fra 1923, er oppgradert etter det, men har klart å bevare den nostalgiske stilen.

Super cute town and nice rooms. They are a little small and the bathrooms are shared with 7 other rooms. We never had to wait for the bathroom and they were newly remodeled. Bed was comfy. Sheets/towels were very soft, would have loved a couple more pillows. It is right in the middle of town and all the restaurants and river is within walking distance. It is right above a bar that plays live music til around midnight every night, some nights later. Fun games, fire pit and great atmosphere. Just don’t plan on going to bed early

It’s so charming and right in the heart of town. Built in 1923, it’s small and old but really cool. It is over the tavern and you can hear the noise. No band tonight though. Ear plugs are provided. You share the two bathrooms amongst the 6 or 7 rooms but we haven’t had a problem with that. We would definitely come here again.

The Fairview Inn is a historic hotel and bar in Talkeetna! Definitely worth spending a night at and getting a drink/listening to live music! It is centrally located so extremely easy to walk to other shops, restaurants, bars, and the museum in town.

The stay was great and just as expected! Very comfortable bed—no frills but I wasn’t looking for that. Loved being in the middle of Talkeetna with food and entertainment just steps away. Would suggest better privacy/light blocking curtains or roller shades for the windows though. Staff was very helpful.

Just wonderful. Really comfortable bed (which is what you want if you're doing a lot of hiking). Historical building, with the oldest bathroom in Talkeetna (with a plaque to memorialize it). Check in at the bar downstairs, a great place to meet the locals (and their good looking dogs), on site restaurant. Note: there is no elevator, you have to bring your bags up the steep flight of stairs yourself. Loved it, would definitely stay again.
