The hotel is historic and extremely interesting. That said the room was very poorly lit. It was basically impossible to read after sundown. The window, yes one, did not allow a view or provide any lighting. As the large hotel was only partially full….there were many rooms with large windows and views available for upgrades. But not to be offered.

For Memorial Day weekend, we decided to stay at the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas (NM)..! :) The city is one of our favorite destinations in the state, and we love taking the scenic route (Hwy. 104) from Tucumcari to get there! :) It was our first time to stay at the Plaza. Many celebrities have stayed there, and you can read about each one throughout the hotel. (We discovered that the Plaza was used to shoot scenes for the movie, "No Country for Old Men.") The hotel has a bar and a (separate) restaurant that serves excellent food! Our room had a tall ceiling and a long window (with custom curtains) that gave the room a modernized yet luxurious feeling! The staff was also helpful and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again..! :)

Our stay was very nice. We stopped and spoke with the staff and they were all very friendly. Went out of their way to help us with our needs. The rooms were so big and the bathrooms were spacious. Lots of history in the hotel and we loved it. Beautiful place to stay!

My stay at the Plaza was excellent. However, I made the regrettable mistake of dining at the restaurant found within the hotel called The Plaza Grill and Tavern where I was treated so poorly that instead of extending my stay for a second night I left early. The Plaza Hotel would do well to completely disassociate itself from the Plaza Grill and Tavern. In fact, I will not return to the Plaza Hotel so long as a certain employee named Brian at the Plaza Grill and Tavern is still employed there. I have never been treated so badly by any restaurant employee ever. In short the Plaza Hotel is great but they're associated with a bad restaurant. If you choose to stay at the Plaza Hotel you will enjoy your stay provided you stay away from the Plaza Grill and Tavern.

The hotel is brimming with character - large staircases, lots of history. The rooms have full ceilings and the bed was huge. Great nights sleep. Wonderful staff on reception both in check in and in the morning. Room was clean - loved the ceiling fan. Situation in a prime location of the town square which was hosting a Mother’s Day celebration - I understand these events are regular. Would absolutely stay again if we ever came back

They seem to have staffing issues. But...my, what a wonderful hotel. Great history or pop culture lessons posted in the hallways. A grand building with lovely furniture and wonderful staircases. We just took a simple room, which lacked chairs, no micro and no mini fridge. The hotel itself (with the bargain price) more than made up for this. Quiet part of town, little noticeable guest noise too. All in all, a wonderful find.

This is a historic luxury hotel with spacious rooms, 12 ft. ceilings, grand staircases, and more. Restaurant, saloon, and coffee bar off the lobby. Located across the street from a public square with bandstand. This place is a real treat as well as affordable.
