Hotel Sylvia is a themed experience. It pays homage to Sylvia Beach, who owned a bookstore in Paris at the start of the 20 century and knew luminaries such as Hemingway and James Joyce. Each room is either a literary genre or author. Our room was very pretty and stylish, But there was not enough space for our things and surfaces to put things on. The side of the bed was too crowded by the wall and made getting in and out difficult. We ate breakfast at the restaurant. It had a great view but the food was pedestrian— it tasted good, but predictable. The location right on the beach and the history of the building was stellar.

We stayed one night in the Drama room. Very lovely themed hotel. Plenty of books to borrow and even a quiet library space on the top floor. Many options for food and shopping within walking distance. Be aware there is no elevator. Charming place.

Clean, cozy, comfortable, like staying in the bedroom of a large house, 100 years ago. Espresso was delightful, book choices were plentiful, views were perfect. The staff were all lovely. I would stay here again. 10/10.

This hotel was beyond fabulous!!! Upon arrival, Miranda let us know that we got an upgraded room. We were in the Agatha Christie room with a L shaped balcony. The room was very clean. We toured all floors of the hotel and we loved how it explained the starting of the hotel and all. We ate breakfast at the joining cafe and it was delicious. Checkout with Alex went great and he added some information about the hotel opening last July and that if we choose to come back to call as we could get a 15% discount on that stay (depending on timeframe).

Super location on the beach and a wonderfully charming hotel. The rooms are individually decorated in concert with the literary theme of the hotel, which is filled with books in every nook and cranny, and furnished with comfy club chairs. I had a delightful breakfast after my complimentary cortado. It's worth a detour or a destination weekend.

Beautiful, clean room. Lovely views of the ocean. Amazing to hear the ocean all night while you sleep. Staff incredibly nice. Breakfast in the cafe will priced and delicious. It's wonderful to be able to purchase a book that you find on the shelf and start reading. We love the literary themed Hotel Sylvia!

An amazing hotel! The rooms and lobby are so cozy! The view and location are incredible!! And will be returning. I booked again literally while having coffee and watching the waves. I fell in love!
